okay sooo this is just a general minecraft question because i can't find the answer anywhere online (tbh i didn't look that hard). sooo im sure most mc players understand that if you type the keybind combo F3 + H, it pulls up extra inventory info like exact tool durability, code names, etc. well on my keyboard, i have a FN key, and if i press FN + F3 + H, all that does is pull up the nerdy info on screen and nothing shows up on my inventory. anyone know how to do this cuz i cant do it for the life of me.

I think the Fn key changes the Function of your F keys. On my keyboard the F3 key is also volume up and using so holding Fn while pressing F3, increases the volume.
If you're on a loptop, some laptops set the default of these keys so that they either activate as F3 or the Function (volume up, etc.) and this can be changed in the settings somewhere. You want to make sure it's set to trigger F# rather than the function, then F3+H should work.

On my Macbook, holding fn+f3+h shows the advanced tooltips. : )

Hmm. Not too sure. Hit F2 while in game and if it takes a screen shot then you know you don’t need the Fn key when hitting F3.
I have found that you have to hit them both at the same time.

If you’re using any version under 1.11 these debug messages won’t show.

Alternatively. With optifine you can go Minecraft > Options > Video Settings > Other and enable it there.
