Hiya, Skyblockers. As our wonderful community keeps growing in numbers, and more and more members acquire large amounts of wealth, to many it becomes increasingly clear that not only do we run out of things to spend time on, on Skyblock, but we also wind up with a lot of diamonds and various rare items sitting around in chests never to be touched again. Therefore, I'm marking the founding of the Skyblock Events & Social Board. This board will be a group of members participating as volunteers in a small panel that plans and carries out events and social happenings on Skyblock, working from joint funds. This means that the Skyblockers who participate in these events will dedicate a large amount of their riches to sponsoring and hosting these events, carrying them out as a group. Let me explain a little better. The panel will agree to host an event, and offsets - say 20 - diamonds to it out of their mutual funds (all held in one central chest somewhere, accessible only to panel members. Someone will take on the responsibility of hosting and arranging the event, and will carry it out at a specified time that (to our best ability) will be announced on the forums beforehand. The events could be anything from a party with cakes and contests, to pop quizzes, arena challenges, parkour competitions or hide and seek. The difference is that these will be carefully planned and mapped out to make them more enjoyable for the community, more frequent (as we will have a lot more value to spend in a mutual fund), and hopefully engage many more people. I'd like, at first, for five other community members to participate in this panel, and I will create a separate forum on my own domain for the conversations to take place, so that we're independent of timezone and activity. I would like to see members from different timezones taking up the challenge, so we cover as much of a spread as possible. This is not a position free of responsibility. First of all, you're expected to dedicate an amount of your valuables, preferably no less than 20% and no more than 80% to the panels mutual funds chest, from which we will sponsor and organise the events. Secondly, you are expected to host a few events weekly, ranging from 20 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the event. We will, to our best ability, give you only the events you bargain for, but you may find yourself having to do something that seems boring, if nobody else is able to take it for you. So, five members to participate in, host, and sponsor events are needed to fill the panel. If you'd like to become a part of it, drop a quick message below with your timezone, the amount of value you'd be able to dedicate, the amount of time, and a few lines about yourself and your motivation for participating in the panel. We'll then carefully tailor the best possible board, to cover all timezones and produce the most mutual funds to spend on events. Would you like to donate independently to the 'Events & Social Board'? Then please drop me a PM here on the forums, and I will get back to you. We will of course thank you immensely, and make sure to mention you during our events when your kind donations make tons of Skyblock players happy beyond all. Additionally, we'll surely find other ways to express our gratitude. SO! Drop a message below if you want to participate and make Skyblock an even cooler place for everybody, or drop a PM if you feel like donating without having to take on the responsibility of hosting and managing the events. We'll select candidates independently of language, rank (mod/donor/non-donor) and riches, so everyone is encouraged to apply if they feel motivated and passionate about this project! This is not the final thread, and one will be written up to summarise what we do and how we do it, as well as to advertise new events. I would very much like for blaq to take a look at this thread, as he's already doing his Skyblock quizzes, and might therefore be interested in participating.
I feel like sometimes quizzes get too much overreaction and start spamming up chat with numbers or Google'ed answers ^_^ What other events are we planning?
It's all in the hands of the members who participate. This is one of the reasons I want the board founded. Being more people will spark more creativity in events, rather than one man's thinking, and so we'll come up with better and more well-managed ideas for events. The second reason is to re-establish the economy on .NET. It's gone horribly to rats lately, and perhaps spreading some currency among more of the members will allow the market to balance itself and create more competition and more demand for the rare and valuable products again.

I won't be taking your hard-earned diamonds and rares until the board is actually established, but I will get back to each and everyone of you, I promise. I may join, I'll get some Net diamonds/iron/grass in exchange for Org rares and donate them to year. Prior to the donation though, I would like to know who's in the board beforehand, so I know that these people are "trustworthy".
I should be able to do this but I don't have any rares to donate, maybe just like 5 dias 4 stacks iron but I am good at planning events
I'm in ^-^ I'm new to forums though but have plenty of time to spend on events as such, just a tad on the poor side (greenbean ;-; )But I can donate some iron and gold as such ^-^

Sign me up! I'm in the Eastern Time Zone. When I'm not working (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday ) I am logged on around 3 o'clock for about 2 hours. I will be much more active after June 24th when school gets out. I am on the forums all the time. I am on the forums anywhere for 3-4 hours Monday-Sunday.
