There's a lot of recent issues with Enderpearls spawning Endermites, which makes them a potential tool for Player Killing. Endermites are hostile mobs, so this should be fixed.
There are many ways till kill players on the server kid. If people do it, and are caught they should be punished. I for one enjoy endermites. Also over time they vanish.
There is a 20% of endermite spawning from throwing an enderpearl. Also, endermites disappear within 20 seconds so I don't think it is neccesery
"Using an ender pearl has a 5% chance of spawning an endermite. [...] Endermites despawn within 2 minutes, regardless of the player's distance from the endermite, unless they are named with a name tag. If they are named, they will never despawn unless they are killed or the difficulty is switched to peaceful." Source: minecraft.gamepedia.com (Minecraft WiKi)
Well since player killing is not allowed endermite spawning should be disabled. Survival means that YOU can die of that, NOT others
Of course, player killing is bad, but what if someone just loves them? Disabling it completely is just not the best solution. You just gotta be careful. And if you're just here to disable everything that kills you, might as well play creative. And if you're just here to disable everything that's gonna make you die, might as well play creative.
That's a valid point, but the reason why there is this question is that it might be used to intentionally kill others in order to detail their items, which goes against Skyblock's concept. Maybe for you it is different, but I would not apreciate coming back from lunch or so and finding myself dead on my island, "Killed by an endermite" spawned in by someone else.
Well then, I'd suggest endermites can only be spawned by owners of the island at their own island, and disabled when you're at other people's islands. Also, don't afk if you're worried about getting killed or /lock your island. I apologize if I sound rude or anything, but there are multiple ways of preventing these things to happen.
