This is to do with enchanted books such as these: Since a few members have been paying high amounts for an item that they believe is "rare", I'm telling you now, it isn't. You need to enchant a book with a table, and then /enchant [Enchantment] 0 to get rid of it. If anyone sells them for a high price, telling players that they are rare, that is scamming and you will be punished for it. Thanks for reading.
well, to be fair. If nobody knew of this trick they would be "rare" seeing not a lot are in the economy. So its technically the truth?
Yet, if a few are in circulation the item would still appear to be rare. If the person mass produces them and overflows the market then it will lose its rarity and become uncommon or common. Seeing this got stated on the forums I doubt the item to be "rare" for much longer. and to be fair, if they were rare I wouldn't exactly say "scammed" seeing its just an item for item trade. both parties know full well what item they are going to get. Nobody sells at cost ;P
I would also like to add that the "Create a skyblock" cobblestone isn't rare because I've seen some people selling them for 200+ grass. People can get it easily from creating their first island on the server.
You can't, you now get a book. Thus making the item unobtainable. And i'm rather sure not everybody kept it and we get to rare.
Haven't seen one but will keep a lookout for one Also if the enchantment book doesn't have a name and when you use it, you would get the enchantments, just isn't told to you. I can see why it can be considered a scam but at the same time it can also be not cause you were getting some sort of enchantments. Not saying I'm against it, just something flying around my mind
But how do you remove the enchantments on it though? To get the texture for the enchanted book, don't you need to enchant it? Correct me, cause I never played singleplayer in years
All you need to do, is to enchant the book using the enchantment table, then do /enchant <enchantments you got from the enchantment table> 0. It removes the enchantments, but keeps the shiny book texture. (As Laini explained earlier on in this thread).
