I was collecting the lava from my cobblestone generator and the empty bucket I was using somehow turned it into water. This all happened after I'd already emptied all the water from the generator and the bucket. The only proof I have is the empty frame of the generator and no lava.

 

As lava trade is illegal, you will have to ask someone to give you obsidian, once and if you obtain this place it down and right click the block to turn to lava.

 

This is a common glitch. When you place a water bucket in a place that you have no permissions in, it will look like an empty bucket, but is still infact a water bucket. To fix this, simply relog, or put the item in a chest. If it's a droppable item, go somewhere safe, drop it and but it back. This will revert it to it's original display.

 

This all happened on my original island so I don't know how I wouldn't have permission, and I emptied the bucket into my water source.

Lava trade actually isn't .-. Just lava in a bucket. Haha so if you trust someone, you can ask them to place lava for you but yes obsidian is also another tradable method.

Future buckets and lava. Make sure the bucket is empty by just clicking the ground. Then put the empty bucket in the first empty slot in your hot bar then pick up the lava.

 

If you need obsidian i can refund 1. I just don't know when i can come on.

Yes, but I still would like to get an obsidian so I can replace the loss. Cause that was all the lava I had.
