Withdrawn Emerald's Staff Re-Application

I feel like some people are being fair in the sense of feeling like "you've not been back very long" but I think you've made it clear you're sticking around. Now I remember you from the past and honestly I was pretty toxic so maybe I shouldn't be saying much, but I've seen bad from you in the past, however it was years ago and everyone moves on from things and matures. I feel like to be a good moderator you don't need a stick where the sun don't shine, but even then I think you've clearly grown from your past, so there's not much else to say in this sense. I also feel like people look into ban history a lot and I personally do not blame them, but a lot of it was in the past, and this permanent ban was for poor judgement in giving the account to who you gave it to, but you've taken responsibility for your mistake and undid it, which is a good thing I feel. When you were a staff member in the past, I think part of it was just a younger me being petty, but I didn't really think you were anything fantastic as a mod from a player's point of view, but then again that was only part of the story I got.

I feel like I'm going to be neutral for now. I think I would support this because you have experience and I do believe that you have grown from the person you used to be. I would be supporting this, but the account situation feels like really poor judgement and that's very off putting. Now just remember it's okay to have fun and joke around, as long as it's nothing problematic!

I do feel like I have made it abundantly clear that I am staying on the server and am not going anywhere anytime soon and I choose to stay that way. I do believe everyone moves on from these topics and issues and can grow out of them, and I feel like I have done that myself. Ban history with applicants can be a little tricky, depending on severity/length/reasoning, however I have since understood the mistake of giving my account away and I really cannot say anymore than an apology on that!

I do agree it can be seen as poor judgement from other player's perspectives, and I only learn from these mistakes I made, and I believe that is a positive. Seeing the past me vs. currently is very different, and I really hope I can prove that to you also. I'm not making any excuses, but my time on the staff I was at a very young age to be staff where I really did not develop a sense of maturity (12-13), but I really feel like now that I have grown up a bit I have more of a basic understanding of these concepts, and life in general. Making personal decisions has always been hard for me, but as I am starting to make them in real life these actions are replicated back to the server.

Hopefully in the future I can see you supporting my application, and I really thank you for your feedback Teeler as you were a player when I was apart of the staff, so it is good to hear from someone that has a little bit more knowledge on my past self.

 

You're a good guy but you shouldn't apply before playing for a few weeks after quitting for years.

I have had this comment a few other times in this application, and I do understand I did open it a little early. However, I did open it early as I have picked up on all server aspects very quick and I am able to learn all of this information at a very swift pace again, but I do see what you are saying! I am able to learn all aspects of information very quickly, as in these few weeks since being back I have been able to understand all of these concepts.

For being away from the server for around 3 years now, a lot has changed. I do pride myself on being able to learn pieces of information very quickly for being away for a few years. I do understand all of these changes that have happened and that the server is a different place than it was a few years ago. For a majority of questions being asked by players on any of the 3 platforms, a majority of the time I am able to answer a question with knowledge on that topic.

I am still working towards being able to regain all of this knowledge again, but so far I have picked up on a lot of aspects that I may have forgotten.

I hope I can see a change in your opinion at some point in the future, and thank you for leaving feedback about this topic!

I am bumping this again

Activity has been a little slow these past few days, but my activity will tend to increase over this week and I have been able to get in-game at least once a day. I've also started recgonizing the economy server more, and I tend to get on there more when I can as I am learning the basics to the economy server. I would like to make sure I have knowledge on all servers, but I would still really like to be able to enjoy the second server!

I will be going neutral for now. (Unlike others I will be back in a few months time to give my final decision.)

I’ve only had a few interactions with the applicant, but from what I’ve encountered I see a very trustworthy, friendly, personable and easy to reach player.

That is a fair point, and one I am willing to be patient to be able to prove I am able to continue showing these practices, while making improvements in my past and current mishaps. I hope to continue to show good judgement, and would also be able to change your rating sometime in the future to a support!

 

I am bumping this!

Activity from here until a month onwards might be a little slow, as I am finishing my final month of school before graduation so I’ve been having some things to do.

I would be able to log in at least once a day still to ensure that everything is running smoothly and to have time to play on the server. Once my school year is done, I will have plenty of more free time than I’ve previously had before.

I am still making sure to take a reread of some of the critical feedback I’ve been given, and still trying to find every way I can go improve on from these comments. In this application post, the community feedback is the most important to me at the moment and either gaining this trust back, or starting a new trust bond with these players!

I would like to bump this for the week In-game activity has gone back to normal, as well as my Discord activity starting to improve. I appreciate all comments and feedback posted down below, and look forward to hearing your responses, thank you!

 

I'm glad to see you have kept active at the game and did not just re apply while being inactive and then disappear like Bdark did recently (because we all knew he was just doing it for nostalgias sake). I believe that recent event has left a bad taste in a few peoples mouths, hence the lack of support. People aren't ready for ex mods to come back so abruptly after Bdark's mess. Emerald, you have matured and I see you as being capable of a helper position. Support.

I do pride myself on my activity across all platforms and believe that is a vital part of this position to carry. I have been given a second chance to try to do this the correct way, and I am very thankful for that. Just thinking back to my old application and moderation days, we did not have the best relationship for a majority of my run. Seeing you comment such feedback, it proves to myself that I have made these changes over the course of a few years.

I am happy to say that my activity will not be changing any time soon, and I can only see an increase in activity if that's even possible. I do spend a few hours on the server a day, and I do make sure I come online at least once a day.

Reapplying early for me was more of a statement, but re-applying in general is something I really took the time and consideration to re-do. I did believe that my activity was very strong when I started my application, as well as regaining past and new knowledge. I re-applied very early as I did believe I was ready for this position again at such an early discretion. Coming back to that post, I do believe it was a little too early for an application, but I knew I was going to be able to regain all past and new knowledge very fast. I realized that I really enjoy helping others and giving them information they are seeking, and it also makes myself feel really good in the moment also, as I enjoy seeing others happy. There are countless players a day seeking such information, and I am happy that I am able to provide some of these players with the answers they are seeking. It may not even be information a player is seeking, but a favor asked or something such as, and I am always happy to help anyone. Given this position, it would open up more possibilities to me of players I am able to help. Hopefully, I am lucky enough to be given this second chance to prove myself to the staff team and the community that I am what they are looking for in a new staff member. I have apologized countless times about my past actions, but I do believe I have to say sorry to you if I have caused any past issues in my time during moderation as we did have a rocky past. Coming to where we are now in the month of May, I do believe I have full knowledge of all of the basic understandings of the server again, as well as Discord. I have also taken it upon myself to discover the economy server more, and try to build a foundation on that server. As I stated a few other times, I am still learning new information myself each and everyday, and I tend to educate myself on these topics as time progresses. Personally, I believe learning something new over the progression of time makes you a stronger learner and keeps you on your feet.

It is up to staff's discretion if they would be willing to give me a second chance at such position, but I am hoping that past team members are also seeing the difference in aspects such as maturity. I will not be letting the community down nor the staff team, and I am only hoping to hear some more feedback in the comments down below.

 

The way you reply to the posts on your application shows me how mature you've become since "back then", and the amount of times you help on Discord makes it very self-explanatory for me about how you possibly help in-game. I didn't know I was still no supporting but 100% support now. You may have had a past but you have a present (tense, not present as in gift). Good luck!

i was neutral in March due to you being back so early and I felt it was a bit fast but after having interactions with you nearly daily, ingame and out of game, you prove that you’re willing and dedicated to being staff. you’re highly engaged w the community and active, you deserve a chance & I hope you get it to prove that you’ve changed from the past, as the past is the past and we cannot change it but we can make the present better. You’re also really mature and enjoy having genuine conversations, you can see both sides freely and you’re an all around pleasant person

Even though I said a lot when I last replied here which didn't mean to be negative, it seems like you're so frequent active in-game, forums, and the discord channels (wow). Maybe it was true as you maybe want a second chance after all.

I am feeling on a neutral for now, maybe it will take a few weeks or a 1/2 month to decide if there will be a support or not.

I did see this change in myself over the course of time, but I believe it was a harder change for the community to take in. I made sure before I created this application I was fully dedicated for what I was taking on, and I'm glad I did. I do try my best to help out on all platforms, but I would say my Discord activity is still the lowest, but as you stated I have been helping in the channels on there and I've made myself comfortable on the Discord again. It did take me some time as I personally did not have a connection with the community, but after spending more than a month back I have already created some relationships with players I have never got the chance to talk to before, or even newer community players that I've just met. I do believe the past is an important decision in coming to terms with any type of position, however, the present and the future are just as important.

I completely understand your reasoning that you left when I first opened my application and your thoughts on that. However, I am happy to hear that you have also noticed these changes in me and have seen what I am able to be capable of. Engaging with the community was a tough aspect when I first joined back, but I am lucky enough to have bonded with a large portion of the community in just a month's time. With my in-game activity currently at a strong point, I am able to communicate with such players and have the chance to create these conversations! A lot has changed over this course of time, and this reply would not be happening if there was not any change. If you were to take a look at some of my reply's from the past from my application, there is a large difference in maturity that I see myself. Taking it upon myself, I've reviewed over the comments and issues that I once created, and I actually cringe when I see most of that stuff. It's not who I am today, and it's not someone I wanted to be. Realizing that, I did take it upon myself to take a break away from the server and improve on these aspects starting with my in-real life occurrences.

I am very glad to hear such a change in opinion from you in a short amount of time! Your past comment was very acceptable, and it was something that needed to be said. Past and new players viewing this application, do have to understand the reasoning behind the issues I created, and I am actually glad you posted what you posted. It does show a change in where we are today, and what I did say in that post would not be acceptable at all from me, and would not even be something that comes to mind. Having a few comments note my Discord activity, I took it upon myself to engage myself in the community, and that has only promoted me to chat in the Discord more than I previously have. Hopefully I am able to see a change in opinion to a full support in the near future, but I fully understand your reasoning on needing some more time for your support. I understand it must not be easy to support my application so soon with having such past experiences with me, but I hope to assure you that will not occur again.
