Economy Updates - April 28th, 2025 These list of changes below are being applied to Economy first and will be applied to Survival when further testing is done. We now have a redstone limiter in place, which is similar to what we used to have when we were on version 1.12.2, however it was lost during the 1.19.2 update. Matt re-coded the plugin and it was heavily improved. This is more of a precautionary measure for stopping very massive machines that when activated, can severely lag the server. Adjustments will need to be made but the plan is not to restrict normal or medium sized redstone contraptions. You may see event notifications relating to redstone for your island, or islands you are visiting or have been trusted on. Your redstone, piston, hopper, or dispenser machines will only be de-activated if they reach 100% of the set limits, so the messages that indicate any amounts under 100% are to notify you of how close you are to reaching these limits. After 5 minutes, the machines will be re-activated automatically, however they will de-activate again if changes are not made and the limit is reached again. To be transparent, the limits are based on your island size and are calculated per 60 seconds, the following are currently what is set: - Redstone Event Limits: 100000 (default), 110000 (medium), 120000 (maximum) - Piston Extend Events: 10000 (default), 15000 (medium), 20000 (maximum) - Hopper Item Transfers: 20000 (default), 30000 (medium), 40000 (maximum) - Dispenser Limits: 5000 (default), 7500 (medium), 10000 (maximum) The plugin also replaces our previous limits for Hoppers and Spawners but will remain the same: - Hoppers: 48 (default), 72 (medium size), 96 (maximum) - Spawner, 24 (default), 36 (medium), 48 (maximum) Furthermore, we are re-implementing limits on Minecart Hoppers which can be very extensive on the server, the limit is: - Hopper Minecarts: 10 (default), 15 (medium), 20 (maximum) Note: These limits are purely experimental and will be adjusted if needed. Please let us know. Moss will now spread to ores. When we introduced the ability for ores to generate from cobble/stone generators, it was never intended to be massive farmed. As stone can generate quickly compared to cobble, machines have been created by users to abuse the ore gen rates. The use of moss blocks also assist in doing so. By making it so moss spreads to ores, these types of ore gen machines will be less useful or intentionally broken. Apologies, but what I originally said here was a mistake, stone will still generate ores, however moss will spread to ores instead. Original text: Stone generators will no longer generate ores. Cobble generators are unaffected as cobble generates slowly. This also applies to the deepslate variations, deepslate will not generate ores, however cobbled deepslate will. You can no longer use your off-hand to place dirt in item frames. An exploit regarding Tridents has been further patched. Nether drops such as Quartz have been adjusted and a consistent bug of drop chances going negative have been patched. Added island settings (/settings) for Composters and Cauldrons. The use of '/sell all' will no longer work on islands that you are not a part of. I have been aware that new users can simply afk at other islands and generate income, this is what has been known as "profit shops", however this kinda ruins the starting aspect for many players and was not intended. Players can still utilize "profit farms" however, where users can gather items and warp to the server shop (/warp shop). This is more of a manual process but the income is greater for those that do not afk. We can look into additional options such as the ability for island owners to charge visitors a fee in order to access such "profit farms". This feature of course is for Economy only. Please use this thread to post your feedback and suggestions. These changes as mentioned will likely be adjusted/changed. Special thanks to Adriansop and matt
Thanks for clearly outlining the changes Crew. Pleased to see that the suggestion from Devil for composters/cauldrons was implemented. Could you clarify why the limit of 5 hopper minecarts was chosen? It seems quite low, particularly for a fully expanded island.
I have changed this to 7 hopper minecarts for medium and 10 hopper minecarts for maximum islands. We used to have limits in the past but currently no limits have been set. Minecarts with hoppers consistently transfering items can be very extensive on the server.
I do use a few hopper minecarts in my item sorter, Could we be able to perhaps have it higher allowed amount for explanation islands of around 16-20, So things like my wool colour sorting and shulker packers would all still work
You say you’ve re-implementing limits on hopper minecarts. This used to be a per chunk limit. Is that still the case?
Yes, they will be the same or slightly lower considering that farms are not largely used or profitable on Skyblock Survival. The current limits may be considered high or low however, it really depends and the set amounts will be continually adjusted. This is mainly to restrict the very large and extensive machines and is not made to limit most redstone contraptions on the server. Feel free to let us know if you have any issues once it is live.
tysm for implementing my suggestion but, will we get this on sb too…? (not able to check rn if its on sb or not)
I definitely agree with lessening the item limit spam - maybe increase the lower limit for notification to 30% instead of 10? I'm curious also about the usage of it across all /trusted islands - it's definitely increasing the spam we're experiencing, although I will say increasing the lower limit will help. Obliv and I both make a lot of map art, and the clear system occasionally sets off the 10% warning. By the current system that means we're both spamming each other when we do anything. Not sure if there's an easy solution to this.
TPS, dropping back close to pre update levels, down around 13 currently. Will wait and see what the average across the day is. /back no longer works on locked islands. Even on our own islands and those were trusted on.
Am I the only one upset about the stone generator change? Sure, it breaks ore generators, which is fine, but at what cost? Anything to allow mining stone instead of cobble for ores. We'd still have to dig it out by hand, but stone mines just slightly faster than cobblestone, which speeds things up considerably without automating the whole process. Surely there could've been a better way, like making moss spread to ores? It's not very hard to do through a data pack, so surely it can't be hard to do with a plugin.
