Currently as it sits the only changes to drowns have been the percentage at which copper has a chance of dropping. While I agree this was a good change there are a couple other additions I believe need changed in order for it to fit into the Skyblock meta. Reduce the amount of armor that drowns drop perhaps 0 would suffice as currently you can smelt the armor and tools (gold and iron only) to get nuggets and 9 of those nuggets creates an ingot. While it's nice to have somewhat of an "iron" farm I fear it's not needed nor good for the economy. Reduce the amount of rotten flesh that they drop as of right now the amount of rotten flesh that drowns drop is astronomical I mean if you leave you farm unattended for a little while and your hoppers fill up or vice versa thousands of rotten flesh will sit on the ground and keep getting updated by new rotten flesh joining the stack resetting the clag timer as I understand. Remove ZOMBIEs spawning with depth strider boots... while building this farm and making improvements the main issue I have been having is zombies spawning with depth strider boots on and it's more frequent than you might think. When this occurs the farm completely breaks cause the zombie is unaffected by the water paths that have been mapped out and will just stand there and more zombie spawn, stacking onto it completely rendering the farm useless until you go in and manually kill the zombie that has spawned with the depth strider boots. One time I killed the zombie that had stacked to (47k) to come and find out that he was wearing depth strider boots that had 0 durability. Hopefully some of this makes sense and I would be happy to answer any questions. Thank you. : )
Perhaps a good point on depth strider, but to resolve the rest of this, you only need a sorting mechanism that dispenses all but the desired drop into the void. Ours works quite well. If you desire only copper, simply set up a small sorting rig to throw everything but copper away. Am I missing something?
Yeah I agree on the armor part, having a nugget farm isn't great for the server. Getting rid of armor would also solve the depth strider thing. Also, I'd go a step further to say remove rotten flesh entirely. Its not a great thing removing an item from the server, but rotten flesh is probably the most worthless item in skyblock, and it just makes farms clog up. About the timer being reset though, I'm pretty sure dex said that new items don't reset the timer in a changelog, so unless its still broken that shouldn't be a problem anymore.
My farm is backing up and i have 20 dc's of space to account for the misc armor and rotten flesh my rates and efficiency is too great to keep up with skyblocks custom hopper flow rate.
I've had multiple stack in the thousands of rotten flesh on the ground for hours on hours until I pick them up and dispose of them manually.
Why can't we just keep it vaniila Make you farm better to handle the flesh with an auto disposal feature.
I have an auto disposal feature the problem is since you have to start with a normal zombie and convert it into a drowned by having it's head underwater for 30 seconds and then running a pathing system for another 15 seconds until it actually converts when zombies with depth strider boots spawn in it breaks that farm they will either; A. Get stuck in the spawn chamber and stack for hours highest I've gotten was 47,511 and break the farm until it is manually cleared. B. Go super duper speedy through the water with their depth strider boots that more times than not have 0 durability C. Stack to the point where they will just disappear idk if it's some sort of cap or entity cramming safety feature but I've had that happen as well. As for the auto disposal feature since downed drop rotten flesh and armor which is just not needed It backs up my sorting system which is quite literally a SC worth of hopper space and 40 DC's worth of chest space. The problem with the auto disposal feature is the flow rate of hoppers on Skyblock is custom and not vanilla. If your comment is true about keeping it vanilla then you should advocate for vanilla hopper feed rates. The problem with the armor is if someone wants to go through the trouble of smelting all the iron tools and armor down you essentially have a renewable iron farm which is not good for the economy.
I've got an efficient sorting system that removes all the rotten flesh. Making an item sorter would be a good solution to that issue. Also, depth strider boots have not impacted the efficiency of my farm, so it might just be that you have them traveling too far with a water stream. If you have the water pushing them more than 5 blocks it messes things up.
It's also possible to hook up a rotten flesh sorter that destroys that item and keeps all the rest. There are a lot of possibilities. skaM I think the issues with drops in your farm can be fixed with redstone.
I'm not sure why I'm receiving disagree ratings here, if you'd like to see proof I can show you the farm and you can see for yourself. The issues you mention can be solved if you tweak your farm
It’s becoming quite apparent that my farm and the way it is set up must be a better and more efficient design than everyone else (when its not clogged because of depth strider)
I think I'm somewhere around 9 stacks of ingots/hour but I haven't tracked it fully. Let's call later
Reminder : rotten flesh can be crafted into blaze power /trash also exists so instead of filling up chests just trash the drops XD
