I was banned for saying "Skyblock Is EPIC! Proof: <A Server IP>"
I said it so it would say # Skyblock.net Is Awesome" instead of "<Server IP>" in the chat. I did not know I would be banned for it. I'm sorry.

You knew advertising was illegal so why even put your ip in there just to say the server is epic. If you knew it was against the rules to advertise and that the Staff team ban people for it why do it?

 

Something you should know about me: I like to play around with plugins and see what I can do. In my opinion, Skyblock is a great server, so I think of a clever way of stating my opinion. It's just how I do things. I try and do things in clever ways. I should also mention that the server ip I used was that of a non-existent server, not a server that I or anyone else owns.

 

I still don't understand. You read the rules and know advertising is not allowed. You also know when you type in an ip (existant or not) it will come up with #skyblock.net is awesome# and the staff then knows the player was advertising and as advertising is not allowed they may then ban the player. If you knew all of this why would you think pretending to advertise a server is clever?

 

Again, I was trying to come up with a unique way to put out my opinion and I had no intention of advertising in any way. All I wanted was to say what I said and keep on playing with my friends!

 

If you wanted to play with friends why make a staff member think you were advertising? And whats wrong with just saying in chat 'I really like skyblock ' Why does it have to be unique?

 

Because I think it's important to be unique, and come up with original ideas. If I knew what I said could get me banned, I wouldn't have said it. By stating my opinion before having it say #skyblock is awesome# should be a cue that I am not advertising, but stating an opinion. I had no intention of making staff think I was advertising.
