Cyk is a lovely person, mentor and friend. I honestly am greatful for her rooting for me and making me feel like I have potential. When people realise the kind of person Cyk really is they will find someone wonderful
i can’t really tell if this thread was made with ill intent or not based on the "disclaimer" you wrote up, but i have interpreted it in that way, so i feel that the following needs to be said: these appreciation threads are supposed to be a positive and kind message to beloved members of the community. every staff member has put hours into this community to make it a wonderful place. i personally feel creating a satirical thread for someone who has spent so much time and effort trying to make this community the best it can be, can send the wrong message and is not very kind. unlike your claim above, if this was made with the intentions of having others make satirical comments, then anything that is said within this thread is your responsibility ilovechookz, because you created this space to make these comments. something that may seem like a harmless joke to you, can do a lot of damage to someone else. with that, since you may be expecting satire, this implies that you also expect the comments to be "ironic and ridiculing" (quote from the actual dictionary definition of satire). creating a space to do so is hateful. that being said, Cyk753, i don't know you well, but you are a kind soul who works very hard for this community. i really hope i get the chance to get to know you better. everyone who is close to you from this server that i have spoken to has said nothing but lovely things about you and who you are as a person. if this thread has ill intent, then this type of satirical appreciation thread is not something you should have to put up with or something anyone should have to put up with for that matter. at the end of the day, we are all humans and everyone deserves love. i feel that making a joke/satirical thread about appreciation is not a good way to spread kindness to others. we love you cyk, and all of the dedication and hard work that you have put into this server. to everyone reading this: please be kind to others because you never know what they are going through.
i dont know why people are taking this badly i put the disclaimer there as a joke i want people to appreciate cyk not flame me and by the way the disclaimer had nothing to do with cyk, it was that i was saying i would ban everyone :p
The disclaimer directly mentions the whole thread, which includes replies to other people's comments in the thread. I think some of that misunderstanding may clear up if you replace the word "thread" in your disclaimer with "post" or "comment"; something that doesn't refer to other replies, but just your own initial comment.
