Hi helping helpers, I have experienced what seemed to be custom Background Music on some Islands and was wondering how this is done. I know there are Server plugins, but how do you do this as a simple user on this Server? Have my thanks beforehand
I have heard of a few ways. One is client side and one is server side. The server side one is making music using noteblocks. You can use redstone to create music loops and there are probably countless tutorials on google. The other part is downloading an mp3 to ogg Converter and changing the jukebox music files to ones of your choosing (resource pack). So when you play a disc, it will play your custom music. However that is client side.
Thank you for your quick reply I knew of this. I have made a "door bell" at my Island spawn like this, to hear when pleople are entering. "Client side" does it mean it can only be heard by me? Otherwise, do you have a link to a tutorial by any chance? Google search is quite messy
I don't know. As I said, all I know is of people who use note blocks for their music. I know of plugins that broadcast music. If my memory is correct Cyp may have installed a plugin a while back that he used to play music but I don't think he has that anymore.
OK thank you for your time and efforts. I will wait though, maybe someone else has an idea. I'd love to have organ Music in my cathedral. Would be awesome ambience. Note blocks only cover five instruments, from which three are actually Percussions. Not much to do with, and even if, it is very space- and redstone-consuming (my Little door bell already takes huge space).
Well although I'm Aware of the high technical skills of Krissy , I'm still wondering where the Music I heard on those Islands was coming from. It wasn't from another Programm running in Background of my Computer if you might wonder. And as I don't remember the names of those Islands... I won't be able to ask them. So if by any Chance someone who is Aware of this trick is stumbling upon my thread, I'd be really grateful for him / her to reply
The options are: 1) using a jukebox with a disc 2) stringing togther a large quantity of noteblocks Hope this answers your question
