There should be a /coop chat because it would be a nice feature since now you have to message all the people in the coop can be tuff so what coop chat will do it will give the ability to talk to all your coop mates at once and be much better to talk/type

I support. The chat is so spammed with people having conversations because only one person can be messaged at a time.

It won't lag the chat. It will be a separate chat like /msg. Only instead of between two specific players, it will be with everyone in a coop. In fact, it will make chat less spammed because only members of that coop can see it.

100% SUPPORT! this is an awesome idea and i think that this would be good because my coop members and i message a lot and this would make it so much easier!

 

I definitely support, I was actually just wondering about this the other day. In fact, I can think of no valid reasons why this would not be helpful.

 

Would this be like:
/coopchat <coopname>
and then
/coop invite <player> ?

If so, that would be a pretty great idea! Kind of like Party Chat :cp

I think this would be very nice, but there are three ways it could be done.
1. People in your coop on your island are automatically added to coop chat, and you can switch the chat over from global to coop like in .ORG
2. People in your coop are automatically added to your coop chat, and the messages from coop chat show up like normal messages on your global chat.
3. You can add people to your chat party without adding them to your coop, like a party of friends.

 

The thing is, mods wouldn't be Able to see the coop chat and if they could it was spam there chat like hell.

Which will spam the mods chat even more than it already does.

 

On .org there's /ch which brings you into local which can be used for chatting to coops or you could just /msg the requested players. Not a bad idea but sorry no support.

 

Well, it is a part of a moderator's job to watch that kind of thing. They can turn /socialspy off if they are so bothered by it and if it gets out of hand.

Plus,

This would be very useful if players don't have skype or another type of social network to make group chats in. Skyblock.net has a lot of younger players, and most younger players can't access skype (etc) because the internet is such a dangerous place for young children. This will make there experience on the server even more fun than it already is in my opinion. Like DeEfffEx stated, this will be much more easier to detect spam, and also inappropriate behavior.

We also used to have this just in the form of /chat.
