1. Server name (.net / .org): Skyblock.org 2. In-game name: Kazmar 3. Full exact Ban Message: 'Banned: Greifing/looting. Appeal on forums. -Xelnagahunter' 4. Did you read the rules? No. At least i dont remember reading them. But that does not make a difference as i knew what i was doing was probably not allowed. I joined .org not long after it opened as .net was crowded and id been playing there a while. I had heard about skyblock on youtube and just joined and started an island. 5. Why do YOU think you were banned? It could be one of two things or both. If i remember what happened straight, when i first got an island on .org the island nearest me had already looted another island and had been in the process of building a bridge in my direction as well. I could see it on the edge of my view. Once i had begun to build an good base for myself i went to investigate. I found his and another island stripped and a bridge almost leading to another island. I took advantage of the fact that these were all beginner islands and probably were unclaimed or would not be missed (or so i thought) as at least one of them was probably already banned and the others hadn't even begun to do basic things if anything at all. So i did what i would agree was probaly the looting part of my ban. I took the rest of the unlooted dirt and items plus what the 1st looter had taken from the other island. While i agree that that was a banable offense, perhaps only a temp ban, as i would consider it a victimless crime. But the second thing might have been worse. Much later on after i had established myself and had finished my redstone nether portal and had discovered the other greifed islands and seen someone in the nether take some of the staircases i had set up at my (first) portal exit and escape through another portal not far away. I used some lava to block their nether portal in order to keep him from using it to get to me and grief me. That was before i built my barrier around my portal. That is the only thing i thought might be considered unforgivable because did something to someone else stuff essentially blocking whoever that was from getting into the nether. 6. Why do you think you should be unbanned? Because I am not a greifer or a looter in the sense that i look for these kinds of opportunities as part of my normal game play or try and destroy other peoples works for fun. Im not a malicious player. At most i think i am an opportunist that was unsure of the seriousness of his crime. Now i know. And as far as ever doing it again or doing anything that i or you would consider greifing or looting- I will never. Ever. I have visited some other islands inadvertently through the nether while going home and have found many greifed and looted. I was appalled. These were developed islands that had creations on them. I personally would never destroy something someone spent time and money on because i would never want someone to do something like that to me. Anyway while i didn't do that, I did do IT, the it that caused the ban. All i can do is apologize for breaking the rules and promise never to do it again. I can only hope you can revert the damage and restore the things i took to their owners as well as not ban me forever as i enjoy playing with all the people on these servers, trading and auctioning and all that as well as building cool stuff. Thanks for reading, kazmar
Ok. Here we go. The point of these appeals is to give you a chance to honestly repent, HOWEVER! You don't seem to wish to follow that understanding and compliance. The island I discovered your "griefing" on was one that was not bridged too, at least not in the normal sense. You have come out of a randomly generated portal between islands and built a platform to sustain yourself, Then you. due to a lack of logblock proof otherwise, "flew" to an island and tore it apart. You, after stealing almost everything, then left a sign saying "Thanks for the free items. -Jak" Logblock proved that you placed that sign. So, lets try retracing our steps and recounting our story.
What!?! Not a chance. I would never do something like that. I have no fly hacks or modifyers nor do I know how to do any of that stuff. I dont want to blame my nephiew John but he is the only one that has ever used my computer that has any interest in minecraft but he is 9 and doesnt know how hack stuff either. But if he used my account to play and did that i will never let him use it again. He only comes over once a month or so so I can babysit for my sister. Other than that I have no clue. I cant explain it. Do i have stuff of theirs on my island? If i had done it i would of course take responsibility and confess what happened because i dont want to have to give up playing on this server but as it is i don't know what to do. When going home from the nether ive never come out in a portal that wasnt in an island already and i surely wouldn't take everything and leave a note behind like a jackass. I guess i can only apologize for the damage if i was responsible and make sure it cant happen again.
Xelnaga, it appears as though this user is accepting responsibility for his mistakes. May I suggest that you unban him and follow suit with a rollback of himself as well as the user whom he griefed? He seems to have realized that not only is griefing against our rules but also will cause him to receive a ban. Kazmar, although I am supporting an unban I want you to realize that if Xelnaga does end up unbanning you, this appeal is archived. That means if you are banned once again for the same reason pertaining to griefing, bridging, etc then you will be banned once more without any chance for an appeal to be heard. Remember that your account is your responsibility so please ensure that you, as well as any guest that plays on your account, are following all rules of our server(s). Please ensure you read these rules if Xelnaga does grant you an unban.
Ok. A rollback for 30 days was done upon banning the user, that rollback was enough to fix the island in question. Now, as far as the appeal goes, I WILL unban you. I don't see many appeals from my bans due to users knowing that I don't accept them easily. In this case I am going to grant you a second chance specifically because you do seem sincere in apology and seem ready to take up responsibility for your actions. A rollback is also going to be a hard thing to deal with as it sometimes can leave a user's island beyond repair. For the future: If we find you in violation of ANY rule then a ban will likely go without a chance for a proper appeal to be heard. Also, a note is to be made that looting already greifed islands is not a "playing style" it's still against the rules. Your island only has so much dirt and sand, it's designed to be a challenge map after all. If you want more, you need to spend Skybucks to make that happen. Also, placing lava to block egress into a public area is against the rules, do not do this again in the future. You can block things off on your island, but not elsewhere. That said, you will be unbanned.
Note: Minecraft logins is down at this moment, I may be unable to unban you until later this evening, if another mod happens by here they may unban you and close this thread to note that they have done so. I will leave this thread open until then.
