I'm not sure if this goes into discussions or not but here I go anyways. A fellow player on /classic told me that when he died (on his own island might I add) his bucket had disappeared. Since I had spare iron I decided to test this myself to eliminate any doubt as to whether someone or something had taken the bucket. I assumed that due to how dropping illegal items is impossible, the bucket must have been returned to his inventory before he had re-spawned, effectively destroying the bucket in the process. During my testing I found that the bucket was in fact not on the ground where I had died, and further enforced my theory by having vanished all together. Now, I'm not asking for items or server overhauls, I just want to get some input on the matter, mostly to put my own mind at ease and to be able to properly inform people in-game.
We have a /lnf where it will retrieve buckets, sand, and/or dirt lost into the void or by dying. I mean you can lose them like by dying really, I don't know other ways off the top of my head.
I've asked a mod and they told me classic does not have that command, that matches what I've been told by users after suggesting this command. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated though.
Classic can get buggy and glitchy in general I'm not surprised if something like that were to occur. I believe all we can probably do is buy/obtain new iron or hopefully someone will be generous to donate.
I'm lucky in that I have bought /kit iron and as such can spare iron to give to those who truly need it, however not everyone can spare iron for someone who lost their bucket. I have had multiple instances of players getting angry at the server as a whole as well as being frustrated that "the mods never fix bugs". Some players get somewhat aggressive at times like these and demand iron or grass or whatever they think they should be reimbursed with, this often times takes away from the fun others are having. <vent> I try to please everyone but even I get tired of people demanding I give them resources because "they're new and just lost their lava". I'm a skygod, not a charity. </vent>
