Chickens not spawning

    Hello,
    I rarely get chicken eggs to spawn chicks when I toss them on the ground. My island is locked, is this causing the issue?

    I believe its from the server itself. Locking or unlocking your island won't affect anything tho I can give you some eggs if you want in game. Whats you IGN?

    Thanks for the egg offer. I have plenty of eggs, just trying to breed more chickens.

    I know that there is a mob limit per chunk. So you might already have too many. But there might be a bug causing it. I don’t tend to worry about animals but I know I was unable to breed my rabbits

    It is normal minecraft behavior that most eggs don't turn into chicks when thrown. The rate (according to mc wiki) is 1 in 8.
