Id like to see the server lock-down on players repeating themselves over and over. Some players repeat the same exact message three times within a minute, this causes a lot of flooded chat messages. How many times do we really need to know you have a shop? How about the same message about your casino? There is no point allowing players to repeat the same thing over and over, my point is, this server would have a more TPS friendly chat with a one minute cool-down. Think about it, do we really need to see you post the same exact thing...no we don't. If you really think people want to see spamming about a shop, get over yourself, if someone needs something, be there like a "normal" person thanks. Your Friendly SkyBlocker, KPaXz There is some misinterpretation here, a cool-down for players repeating that same advertisement over and over, NOT regular player conversations. It would be simple, anyone repeating a large enough character amount in one sentence within said amount of time. That would stop half of the chat disappearing after two of your annoying ad's, ad's that in my opinion bring in no more "grass" for you then messaging someone who actually asks for help. Your ad's don't help the community, helping is letting someone who asks for something know where they can get the item. If your afk all night sleeping yet leave your bots running, there is no help coming from that. Just players being greedy
No support, if your suggesting chat have a 1 minute cool down there won’t be much chatting. Chat is for talking adding a cool down will frustrate and limit players from having active conversations. Just /ignore the advertisers or use /quite mode
No support. The people repeating themselves more likely than not are using the TrauPho Skyblock mod. This auto advertises for them. The TrauPho mod already has a minimum cool-down of two minutes although that can be increased. Having a 1 minute cool-down for chat would just be horrific. One of the main things in the Skyblock community is chatting to one-another. I, and so many others would certainly quit if there was a 1 minute chat cool-down. I agree with Monster_Sparklez. If this is proving to be such an issue for you, just /ignore the advertisers or use /quiet mode.
yeah... no. i hate all the people who constantly advertise their shops/casinos as much as the next person does but i dont believe the best solution is to punish everyone by adding a minute cool down.
No support. Chat cool downs are the worst! I dont play any server that has these kind of annoying asf cooldowns. We can find another solution for this maybe some ad disabler or something but as long as it isn't a cooldown then I'm fine. We've had enough cooldowns for /repair, /spawner, etc
We do have the handy dandy /ignore username command if you want to block all messages from just one person.
the lag wasn't caused by the chat - it almost never is it instead is caused by people who are using nuker or other things that aren't allowed
Yup -------------------- I agreed with everyone here /ignore them if they never chat legitimately and use /quiet. Punishing everyone by having chat messaging having a minute cooldown. No support.
No support, one of the nice things about skyblock is the ability to chat freely. My concern is that this wouldn’t just catch shop advertisements, but also simple things like “Hello,” etc, which would just become annoying. I agree with what the others have said about using /quiet, or /ignore. Unless I am specifically looking for a shop, I tend to block the adverts out anyway.

Then edit the original post. Also what if there's a sale on and far too many people and getting ranks so people are saying 'GG' or 'gg' or 'congrats' over and over while that is annoying if everyone does it the first time the people after that will feel left out and forgotten.
There's already a 2 minute cooldown for autoadverts built in with the TrauPho mod. There really isn't anything Skyblock can do. It would be near impossible to distinguish and advert between normal conversation.
