Just before I afk or play on my alts, are challenges allowed to be completed by alts. If not I will be a very sad man. I have an alt with titan.
Shooooot. I actually have no idea about this. I'm assuming like most issues with alts, there's probably sOME sort of limit on that. I wish it was something Noobcrew had thought about whilst writing the update post for them.
In my opinion, alt farming and using your own personal alts are two different things. I have 4 alts, all fully paid separate minecraft accounts, 3 of which have ranks, I don't consider it farming using my alts to gather resources or complete challenges. I consider alt farming using an alt website/service, to gather multiple accounts (free or paid) and farming as much of an item as possible to make large amounts of grass/currency and/or change the potential values of an item. But people will do it anyway, so dont get worried about your own few personal alts when multiple people are farming 100s of items. Your few personal alts wont make a difference in the big picture.
A lot of the challenges are achieved by completing fairly basic tasks, such as the skeleton skull quest where you just kill monsters. I'd say it's fair game to use any full-access accounts you have to complete challenges. It would be unreasonable to be punished for playing on a different account.
Yeah, you really gonna ban poeple who get 6 netherwart instead of 3. Just play normally, as long as you don't use those free alts to farm the challenge you should be all good.
Actually, as stated by Novembree & Sky , completing challenges on ALT accounts is illegal and against the rules. Thank you for understanding! Have a great day.
Please do not misinterpret our words, I believe Sky and I were very clear the other day when we said that using excessive amounts of alt accounts for personal gain (aka free alts, or website alts) is not allowed. Krissy made a good point above. Do not take our messages out of context for Sky and I explained our reasoning well and you only stated half of it.
how can I purposefully misinterpret something And I believe you were NOT clear. It's a matter of point of view here. But to me, it's no wonder the whole server went into a frenzy after you said Skele head farming is illegal. You also said that the rules were NOT very clear yourself 4[§cMod§4] §cbree§r: Just that it hasn't been made clear If you were so clear, i'm not sure this thread would exist, I'm also not sure why it is I am expected to have read every single chat message in a LIVE chatroom. If it were a forums post, of course you could make this point. Yes, you did say using an excessive amount of alts is illegal, you also said that using alts are illegal. §4[§cMod§4] §cbree§r: It's like when they have hunts for holidays, no alts. Or collecting the hot cocoa heads (Direct quote from yourself, leading player who read this message such as myself to believe obtaining items from challenges on alts is not legal). I wasn't sure when words changed so that 'no alts' now meant 'not an excessive amount of alts'
Very good points, they need to have a public forum post every drop party as well as anytime a new rare item drops. It’s always very confusing when there is no public and official statement. Especially when some mods say 1 thing and others say another thing. especially when one mod says( in this forum post). Don’t push boundaries (you know what I mean). If we want things to be clear don’t be so vague when making these statements
I understand it is confusing however sometimes we have to be vague to avoid issues (such as exploitation). Unfortunately it looks like both staff and players have come across some miscommunication here due to challenges being a new addition with not much time to prepare. So for now just understand my advice is to minimise complications later on. If you were unsure what I meant its okay to ask. I would have clarified for you no issues. If you are going to start farming challenges on over 5 alts, that is crossing the boundaries. If you have a few accounts and complete challenges through doing regular things then there is less likely to be an issue if rules and restrictions are implemented. But we do ask that no one abuses this feature. When we get the definite ruling on if it is excessive alts or just no alts all together we will make it clear for everyone. As for hunt heads and advent calendar those events are no alts.
As all of you guys have mentioned, it's really something that is on a fine line. If you have some alt accounts and you play normally and want to complete the challenges for the rewards then that is fine. However if someone is going out of their way with 5-10+ accounts to complete the challenges for the sole reason of farming the rewards then that wouldn't be allowed. The challenges were made taking this into consideration, we wanted to give something for doing them but the rewards overall isn't much as we know some would look to abuse it. Also you would have to waste a bit of time to complete the ones that give items such as grass blocks, even if it's a few minutes to do so, this can add up and be annoying to where you might be better off doing something else to acquire the items a different way. Also we can modify any challenge that we feel is something that is being farmed quickly. Hopefully this helps clear things up. Will close this thread for now
Thank you for your thread on a recent query! It seems like it has now been resolved. This thread has been locked moved to Help Archive.
