Hi, I was recently in the Nether and the first block I would break of something would drop stuff. Like let's say glowstone, I break one and it drops but when I break more, the block just breaks and nothing else drops. Same with netherquartz when I mine it. I have tried relogging and restarting my entire client, but nothing is helping.

Has anyone heard about a problem like this, and know of a way to fix it?

Maybe cuz I dont have a nether portal myself? I used a public portal to get there.

Hi, this is supposed to happen. In the nether, quartz, gravel and glow stone have low drop rates, meaning you won’t get the block (or raw quartz) every time you mine the block. This is so that items become rarer

 

in the nether gravel, quartz, and glowstone have been nerfed so you have to get lucky for one of the blocks to drop the item.

 

Thank you guys both. I thought I was going crazy and the error was on my end. Like I mined an entire vein of the quartz and only got 1 drop from it. So to know thats supposed to happen, makes me feel better. Thank ya!
