I would like to use ender chests on my island, however, I would like them to be secure to that players I trust cannot take my items out of them or break the chests. I have attempted to put a sign on it to make it pricate, this did not seem to work. I also tried to put a gate ontop of the E chest to set it to Lockette before I put a sign on it. This also did not work... Is there some way to secure it from trusted players? Thanks!
E-chests are personal to players, they simply cannot take items out of there without hacking you in some sort of way.
You can share one ender chest with no problems. When you open it you will see your items, when your friends opens it he will see his. It's like a portal to your own tiny pocket dimension! It's possible for a trusted player to steal the ender chest itself, I suppose, but this wouldn't effect your items.
Items in Enderchests cannot be taken out by other players besides yourself. If a player opens the enderchest it shows the items they stored in an enderchest not yours.
If you break the sender chest, you will either get 8 obsidian or the sender chest back. Enderchest are not like normal chests. If you break it with silk touch, you will get the E chest back. If you don't break it with silk touch you will get 8 obsidia instead if the chest. No items will be lost. Even if someone steal your enderchest, if you get another one your items will still be there. Hope this helped
Yes, like Muru_sph said. Any ender chest you open contains your items. So if I am trusted on my friend's island I can see my items there. Maybe don't think of it as a kind of chest but as a way of keeping an extra, secure inventory space?
basically: Enderchests function so that you can put items in one enderchest and if you find another enderchest in a different location, your items will be accessible. If you break an enderchest your items do not fall out like regular chests. They key is to realise that if you lose an enderchest, and get another, your items will still be there. I will close this, please pay careful attention to the responses.
