Resolved Can someone clarify the /hide feature?

I am trying to upload a download link for a christmas themed head I made in the Christmas head comp thread but I am not exactly sure how to make the link hidden. Megan's post says Hide Image /hide but then in the small image it says . Are these two separate ways of hiding something or does one have to be at the beginning and one at the end. Also, do I need the brackets?

 

Mostly we do it like this: "[HI DE]Your download link[/HI DE]" without the spaces.

And yes you would need the brackets.
