Hey guys. The pc I am using is 16 years old, doesn’t really run Minecraft well... instead of upgrading I thought damn it I’m just gonna build one.
Anyone got any recommendations? Kinda want i7 and to be under $1500

What are you going to do with that computer?
Stream? Video/Music editing? or just gaming and simple webbrowsing?
If Minecraft is literally all that you're going to do with that, an i3-8100 would be a good choice, but more cores and threads could be beneficial for a rising amount of applications, so an i5-8600K or i5-8400 would be good.

If you're gonna do heavy video/audio editing, then an i7-8700k(or even a Ryzen 5 or 7 CPU) would be a good choice.

If all you're gonna do is Minecraft, an AMD GPU would be a bad choice, because of poorly made OpenGL drivers.
A GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060 work great for most people, but if you're into AMD GPUs(like me lol), and play Vulkan-enabled games, like DOOM or Wolfenstein, then an AMD GPU might be conciderable.

For Minecraft, 8GB ram is enough, but 16GB can be useful for some modern emulators and some heavy work.

I made a small sketch here, based on some assumptions I made about your needs, so it may or may not be useful for you.

Do some research for yourself, and try building a PC on this site, too, and see what fits you the best.
    Good luck!

(Sorry for my bad english lol)

You don't need an incredibly good PC - (like a ninja pc or somethin) to run both of those. Are you a content creator by chance?

Spending that much money on a PC in that case is a waste of money, honestly. For two games which are not graphics intensive you should definitely not spend 1500$ unless you plan to do something else with it too.
This is more reasonable, I'd say nearing the high end for your requirements
