Most of you might say "But soul, people can get grass now!" Not really, as silk touch does not work on grass. most of us just want the grass grow so we can do ??? to it. And most of us do not want to wait for grass to grow
....grass grows on dirt. but if you mean convert dirt back to grass to sell it? nope. not converting dirt to currency
.NETs economy is built around grass, so there wont be anything offering dirt for grass, as you know..
Since the economy of .net is built around grass blocks, doing this would allow you to abuse island farming and legally sell any grass you'd get from doing so, henceforth destroying the economy since it would be so easy to aquire grass blocks. And making grass illegal to trade would also destroy the economy. Silk touching grass is disabled for a reason.
Grass already grows on dirt. I'm not sure what you mean by your post. If it's not growing or converting back to dirt at night that means that the water level is insufficient and you need to increase it by placing torches or other light sources around the grass that you want to spread.
Grass spread is on, but you must stay in the chunk the grass/dirt is and you must have appropriate lighting. Grass is the currency or one of the main trade items. We use it to buy things from villagers. If we were able to silk touch it people will have about 64+ grass blocks on their starter island, and can make multiple islands to farm the grass meaning easy riches, no effort and this will mess up our trades to the point grass will be worthless. This is basically a recount of what everyone said above. So this suggestion will not work.
It doesn't grow, but it spreads. So Technically 1 grass block and 9999 dirt blocks could become 10000 grass blocks with patience, lighting and time
Grass spread takes so long but it happens. You can get more than enough grass by getting donor ranks and voting regularly, and selling things for grass c:
For a minute I thought "lighting" was "lightning". I was thinking like "You have to be Zeus to get grass to grow!" and then I got the image in my mind of Zeus electrocuting his grass fields >.<
Well, it's possible to make it using a spawn egg in creative, and then either use lightning plugin or something similar (or wait for lightning to strike).
