According to Conor, the story was different. He never mentioned anything about you thanking him for taking his diamonds. What about the head you took?
After talking with Conor about this in a conversation, he explained that this had been a misunderstanding. I will unban you, but I expect you return the diamonds and the head. If you fail to do so, you will face a re-ban.
