well since the new update 1.5.0 we have had the hopper and o how it has made our life so easy so here is a farming idea I come up with

very nice i managed to get myself a mod that auto feeds and a detection blocks that u can set up and set it so when it reaches over however many mobs you set it to it sends a signal down red stone to the hopper set up as a machine gun and auto kills till the mobs is under the limit you set then it stops

urs is alot more easier to build and controll but i liked mine aswell for a more technical version

yeah it is i built a 12 x 12 farm of cows set it so it detects a 12x12 area and 20 mobs so soon as they bread over 20 i had a machine gun in each side which starts up and slaughters them till there only 20 or less left lol
