I’m back again with another question. I’m on spring break this week so I have a lot of Minecraft time on my hands so, I’m really trying to work on my island/farms. So, basically, I’m trying to get Silk Touch books and need to know the best Auto Clickers to use for AFK fishing. I saw on another thread from a couple years back that they are allowed for farming. I’ve never had any experience using them so I want to see what the community suggests! And as usual, I hope you all are going good!
Meteor client has auto fish which is nice because it has other helpful features as well and is easy if you already play with fabric. However, if you are just trying to get silk touch books I think farming xp and enchanting books over and over to get silk is probably faster. I think even with perfect rod and tps you would be looking at an hour per silk touch book on average. I think there are client side mods that can auto enchant for a specific enchantment but I don't know any off the top of my head. (something like how sbutils does it, but for books)
It's still a nice afk grass maker regardless, only competitor would be corry( As far as I know, only person on sb that restocks their silk books), unless this post motivate more people to go after them I wouldn't recommend going the enchanting route for books, U could be on loss since silk isn't a very common enchant
In 1.18, there was a contraption that was ever so simple, utilizing an iron trapdoor, a noteblock, and one source of water. Unfortunately, in 1.19.2 (the version the server runs in) this farm is no longer optimal. It still catches fish, and some of the "trash" fishing loot, but it cannot be used to fish up "treasure" loot. See loot tables HERE. RayWorks has developed an AFK fishing contraption that works in 1.19.2. While somewhat complicated to build, it is very easy to use. See build tutorial HERE. Note that fishing loot is the ONLY way to obtain lily pads, name tags, curse of binding, and curse of vanishing. Other notable loot is water bottles, nautilus shells, tripwire hooks, and saddles, which are not impossible to obtain through other means, but are either expensive to craft or rarely come from mobs. Silk touch books are obtainable from fishing, but with there being such a large pool of enchantments possible, its quite rare. For reference, I have AFK fished from reset to reset, for weeks, and only came across 5 silk touch books. I have found an abundance of Curse books though, funnily enough.
Why don't you use f3+t? Start fishing and press f3+t and as the refresh pages loads let go of your 'use' key and it will keep fishing I got this super easy fish farm that can be afk'd and the loot is not too bad. Pretty sure I threw a couple bad books out already this is not even an hour's worth of fishing
That is the one I mentioned in my post, the 1.18 version. However fishing loot tables were reworked in the 1.19 update, so certain items cannot be obtained via the 1.18 AFK fishing machine. Fishing "treasure" now requires a water pool of at LEAST 5x4x5. Fish, and fishing "trash" can still be obtained in as small as 1 block of water, but without a 5x4x5 water pool you will never catch loot defined as "treasure". I should have noted in my previous post that by having direct access to the sky, fishing wait time is cut in HALF. If you would still like your AFK fishing machine by RayWorks to be enclosed to prevent people from getting into your build while you are using it, you can still use blocks listed as transparent to sunlight, i.e. glass blocks and carpets, to enclose your build. One additional note is that rain can also cut your fishing wait time in HALF. Previously I believed the weather effect of rain to be simply cosmetic, but since the riptide enchantment on tridents works when an islands weather is set to rain, I am lead to believe that it would also affect fishing time.
