Hi all! This is a bit of a random thread, but who cares. I felt like posting a thread, and this was something on my mind. Leave a reply if you agree, let me know your thoughts and please rate this thread honestly. Let's begin. An economy changeI was online the first time Legendary Crates were introduced into the game. At this time, rare crates still contained beacons and the legendary crate contained a whopping 2 beacons. I was happy when you could only get 1 beacon in a Legendary Crates,as I thought this was slightly unfair. However, me and many other players wear shocked when we discovered you could no longer get any beacons whatsoever from rare crates. Despite this, the economy for buying rare crate keys hasn't changed (to my surprise). Now, the best prize in a rare crate is a spawner, something only worth 4-5 diamonds. Recently, I have noticed a huge demand for beacons, and prices slowly creeping up. I think in the long run this will harm the economy on the server and put new players off playing when they realise the sheer steepness of the hill they must climb to become one of the more 'better off' players in the games. And in my opinion all this comes from one thing: money. For those that aren't aware, Legendary Crates cost 10$ to buy directly from Cyp, and contain items with more value than 500 rare crate keys! This has made the server more profitable for him, but in my opinion less enjoyable and more difficult for the people actually playing it. But the people that will struggle won't be the donor 400's: it'll be the new players, the 'greenies'. As I said, I think all of this could drastically damage our economy and overall the local community of people on the server. Finally, I want to mention one last thing. Recently, I've seen a huge gap emerge between the crazy rich and the low-down poor. I think the things I mentioned above are a reason for this, and I also think more and more of these 'lower down' players are leaving the server due to these difficult changes to the economy. Sorry this thread was random and waffly, but it's all just my opinion. Do you agree? Leave a reply.
Not quite true. The gap is there not because of crates because frankly it doesnt matter. The rich trade rares between other rich players so they have their own little eco Then theres the poor that dont have rares and cant make money because of one group of players Which are the grinders.. stone has dropped to 16 stacks for 1 grass. Cobble the same, wool is getting there. Atm greenies can never supply this and make money because they dont have the setup to. Its not rich players trading rares that ruin them, its regular players efficiently grinding out items which lowers prices.
I like your take on things. While certain items have became cheap for players (like wool and stone) a do think it has became harder for new players, not just because of crates. Thanks, you point is very true and valid.
The legendary crates have nothing to do with the economy being ruined. The economy has been ruined ever since the tradeshop plugin was introduced and people started grinding their *** off to become the cheapest tradeshop on the server.
I dont believe this is true. The tradeshop plugin has pushed people to grind to get a cheaper tradeshop. However, this, in my opinion, has actually made the server better as everyone has competition. Not everything should be handed to you on a gold plate: you have to work to be at the top. The economy prices aren't that big of a deal as I joined only a few months back, and I believe I have happily wormed my way in. Remember, those who vote get grass to improve their trades, then sell more, then progress. (That last part might be a bit off topic, oh well, haha.) In regards to the legendary crates, I dont think they'll change the server too much. However, I agree with 52 that rare crates no longer having beacons hinders the progress of the people who dont have money to burn on legendary crate keys . I definitely see your point. Whilst I do believe trade shops becoming cheaper is a good thing. Thank you, I value and respect your feedback and your opinion.
