Every hour or two someone mentions ebola in the chat on .net.
Stuff like "i have ebola lel" or "Ebola is love ebola is life". This is usually done when no moderators are online. Tons of spam.

This kind of stuff can be rather upsetting to some players. Ebola is very serious and should be treated as such. It can be scary, especially to those who don't understand it fully.

Please add it to the filter.

You can't expect every word to be filtered out that needs to be. Some people don't realize the seriousness of the disease and it's now being used in disrespecting matters.

Ebola is just like saying Aids. To be fair they're both not things you can make fun of. I support this on many cases. Which I will edit later and add in, but honestly people in chat are being foolish. It's honestly annoying.

 

Support, people don't know this disease has spread and killed over 4,000 people but if the disease was in their neighbourhood they would have a totally different approach to this situation and would know how rude it is!

It's not something you should joke about, point blank. Yet being a former mod, I know that players will still bypass it, just like they do with cussing.

 

Not to sound rude, but honestly you dislike it when people talk about depression and rape, what makes Ebola any different. I get it, we can ignore it, but honestly if there is a way to stop it or lessen it, why not go for it. I also think we should add "rape " to the filter as well.

 

Okay, so lol xD Have a ton of people reporting chat about Ebola, or just adding it to filter? Not everything has to be a battle.

Yes, because depression and rape is far more of a serious term. It can be counted as a criminal offence, hence those should be taken very seriously, especially depression and suicide. If people talk about it, it should be our responsibility to make sure that person doesn't do anything that reaches harm to themselves or others. Its sad how many people just ignore cyber crime, like its just a game. Its not. :/

Ebola(and other diseases as well) should be taken seriously, but when people don't know the facts, they are spreading wrong facts to wrong people. Greater than 90% of the information we know, are obtained from peers, not from self-education from books/legit sources. And knowledge of incorrect information may lead to higher chances of spread because people might not know how to manage it correctly. Currently(just received an article in mail from CDC[Center of Disease Control] couple weeks ago), Ebola is already at the state of mutation to being airborne disease, and when that happens, NOTHING can stop it except vaccines and quarantine of healthy people. It will be like resident evil, but without dead zombies being alive. It will be a pandemic. Its VERY serious because its like you're diagnoses with sudden uncontrollable bleeding disorder which cannot be controlled. Only symptomatic treatment is given to the patients right now. And the vaccine is in development, but its only at its pre-developmental stage. It'll take about roughly 1 year to test it on humans, and another 0.5-1 year for mass production. By that time, it will have spread to nearly 30% of the world. That might seem like a low number, but when you account for mutation chances, and everything else, that number is freaking scary to us medical students and doctors. Thats about 1/3 of the world's population.

I suggest enforcing rules by the mods(when they are online and when someone does comment in this) that no discussing/jokes should be made, give max 2 warnings and if they don't listen put a 2 hour ban. If that still continues, ban them. Not trying to be rude, but these are facts.
