Hey. I'm here to make another suggestion saying that there should be ACTUAL notifications (example; poked, etc.) that appear on your desktop and your browser. Example: Chrome/any browser: (1-Any Number) Skyblock Official Site | Skyblock Desktop notification: One New Notification Skyblock Official Site | Skyblock (Person did action)! idk if you understand, but if you do then yeah
uhh? thats the point of this suggestion? if you’re not logged in you can’t get alerts, this is a suggestion to get alerts through your computer
But if you have access to your computer, and you need wifi regardless, you might as well log on Besides (I know nothing about coding) but this seems like something impossible to even do because forums is strictly a web based page and has no correlation to anything outside of a browser
think of facebook, they give you the option to send you alerts while you’re not on their website. that’s basically what i’m saying for this suggestion
You do know you can get alerts by email right? And Facebook can give you notifications by email or by the app, which is not possible with a website, but if you mean something like email alerts that exists
While it would be cool to see the forums enter the modern era and do what most other sites have begun doing, it's a lot of work for something that can already be achieved in a roundabout way. I have forums notifications go to an email that doesn't regularly get much mail. I then enabled desktop notifications for that email. So most forums notifications that I choose get passed from forums, to my email, to my desktop. I'll do some research to see if XenForo already has plugins for desktop notifications, could possibly be an easy implementation. Update: Theoretically, seems possible. Some things I'm reading say it's built into the control panel of newer XenForo versions, others go through plugins or their own custom implementation. So this suggestion could possibly be easy, or could require a decent bit of work depending on how things are currently setup.
