So as most people know moderators are not the most active people on the server, when applying for mod there is a question, How long can you be active on the server everyday? I think there's 1 problem with it. Most peoples "aim" is too high and too optimistic. The most active mod in my opinion currently is WiFi, Talia and dough (but since I am not American i'll comment on GMT placed staff : I think I am quite active on skyblock, I do see dough online quite often but not every single day (still better than most mods), for example Saturday he is aiming for 11 hours on skyblock (obviously taking breaks such as eating) but that is very optimistic. I played around 4 and a half hours of skyblock today and saw him come on once for about 10 minutes. As seen on Blyx's mod app he stated: Yet now, moderator applications are aiming for 3+ hours on weekdays and 5+ hours on weekends. Yeah i'm just curious on your thoughts about this, I think most are too optimistic and not reaching the goals that they plan.
I've heard he is but doesn't he come on quite late for his time and I'm not on too late for my time. I'm sure he is active
Yeah bearing in mind that was 3 months ago, I have less time on my hands now. But every week day I keep those standards. Today I was out with friends and didn't spend long on net, but also I find it impossible to moderate net with the lag, as people just log off before my command gets registered.
It happens to be that a lot of the applicants now seem to be a lot more active. I can be on for over eight hours at a time, and some can only be on for two. It depends on the person.
I can be on between 2 to 8 hours everyday (when my laptop gets fixed). I try my best to be active when I can. But the thing is I see all my friends and mods when itx 12+ AM after midnight which causes some players to see me less. And with school I can be on in the afternoon so I see less people than I see after midnight
You are definitely one of the most active and helpful players out there, but some applicants are putting goals too high for them to achieve
Imo stuff like 2-8 hours is very obscure, putting 3-4 hours is quite reasonable as its an hour difference but 2-8 hours has a 6 hour difference (Sorry if u meant 8hrs on weekends and 2 hrs on weekdays )
I rarely reach to play 6 - 8 hours due to me moving to a new house and country and now my brother and I take turns on my laptop due to him leaving his computer there and we will continue this until he gets a new computer. Who knows what happens.
Honestly, just he truthful. It's okay if you can't be online for 4 hours a day. We don't expect you to put all of your time into skyblock. We understand you have lives.
As an applicant, it was easy for me to stay on the server for 5+ hours straight every single day, but once I got promoted and had to closely monitor the chat, it was nearly impossible for me to stay on for more than 6 hours at a time.
For my app, I claimed to be 1-2 hours mon-fri. Before me PC crashed, I was fine. Now both hard drives are done and I can't even get to the login screen
^ agree Yes nyxa, dum ^ i think this is a big problem with staff, people claim staff do nothing but spend lots of time on forums looking at reports and when they do get on they get bombarded with questions. I find it hard to msg people and build at the same time so when mods dont reply and claim 'they're ignoring you' it could make the mod look bad, but they were just concentrating on something else. Rip
Bored so... Realistically I think we all put some weird and wacky times. I actually did abide by my times for a while until life happened, poor internet and generally burning myself out. I am on call all day pretty much these days but not always online. It is nice to mention that your online time includes being generally available on forums, server, ts, discord etc. Just a tip.
To be honest I know the feeling to moniter the chat. Like I am on and trying to build my island even though I am applicant I see many people needing items, help so I help them and I dont have the chance to build my island but its all worth it
The times I put onto my application are pretty accurate. You really can see me on for eight hours a day sometimes, though mostly I am on for 5-7. People do become busier and less busy in their lives, which is why I update my schedule accordingly.
