Hey there Skyblock staff! You probably know what a pain it is to kick players. Yep, kicking players gets them really pissed off. You get staff reports thrown at you, a mob of their friends, and even more s***. But there's a really easy way to avoid all that. Some mods do this, some don't understand it. But here's a brief explanation: If you kick / warn a person, you must make them feel that you really care about them So no /kick Player spam 2/3, but rather a "/kick Player Hey there, please don't spam =)". This gives them the feeling that you really care about them which, trust me, will make your life a lot easier. But it gets even better! The ultimate solution to everything is: VERBAL WARNINGS! Yeah, sounds mean, But verbal warnings are amazing. The difference between "/kick Player spam 1/3" and "/msg player Hey there, could you try not to spam?" is unbelievable. The player will feel really that you care about them. Just try this out: 2 verbal, 1 kick, mute. You will get a way nicer feedback from warned people and it will make both lives easier. Now, you're saying that you can't type that fast when the chat is full of annoyances? Here are a few solutions: - Ask other mods to help you - Work as a team, maybe sharing the work (I heard the staffTEAM is doing to well, even from mods themselves) So 1 mod kicks spammers, 1 mod kicks foiul language. blablabla - Get a modded client with a "keybind". So you can press the "l" key and it will type in chat for you: "/kick Player Hey there, please don't spam " and you just need to edit "player". Unsure? Well, just try it out for a week. From my personal experience and from the mods who've done this I heard the results are a lot better. This isn't hate, just a tip that will make a lot of peoples experience better (and yours!)
Well, in a way people need to know how many warnings (kicks) they get until a ban / mute. Hence why there's a "?/3".
Reports on kicks are rarely taken into consideration. If someone is spamming the whole chat then we don't have time to verbal warn, and write nice messages. Players just need to learn to not complain over a kick and know what is acceptable to say and do in chat. The only time a nice message is said is when the chat is not busy, or the spamming isn't too much and a verbal warning if many people are doing the same thing at once and it is a little too late to kick
Should get that brick out of your a** it's a mere suggestion. ----- To be honest it all depends on the time of day. If it's peak hour, then this wouldn't be the most helpful thing, those few extra seconds to type the extra words do sort of count then, the keybinder would be helpful for this, but it can be a bit of a hassle setting it up, and /kick [player] *thing* 1/3 is quite more effective in the sense that mods will be taken seriously. If they were all nice and smiley and stuff, people might think it's a joke, and continue breaking the rules. Perhaps if it's at a time where there aren't as many players, sure, this could work, but as I said before, it might not be the most effective.
50% Support +It would be better to the community and how they act -It's too much to do before a kick. You have to warn them before a kick 2x. I would just kick them so they would just understand. When lots of players try to warn them, it doesn't ware off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There are too many spammers to have to write a custom message for every one of them. A kick is simply a warning, nothing more.
