These servers are supposed to be G-rated, but not everybody follows that rule. There are multiple examples I have seen of mods not following this like in this example: Gracie Side boob dream | Skyblock Forums Now, I realize that this is not all mods, but for those that don't keep it G-rated, try to, as many people on these servers follow by example and you are supposed to be the role models.
I am a role model I do not try to be Inappropriate In chat I failed trying to talk in staff chat I was suppost to do /st and did s/t by mistake.. The mods are too serious at times, I in no way broke rules.. I even kicked myself and keeper_of_flame saw me..
She handled the situation herself. I don't understand why you're complaining. She did the right thing when she was put in this situation. I consider this "report" if I may call it, invalid. She could have done much worse. I am still confused. Who said the server was supposed to be rated G? I have never heard or have ever seen this be stated. kthxbai
Unless you didn't read in the chat, she kicked for herself. Grace is responsible in her actions. She would never be immature to say that in public chat. It was an accident. She was trying to talk in staff chat. Grace is good, one accident won't define her.
Are we seriously making a thread about the people who serve the server and volunteer there time. Mods Have there own chat, sometimes people make mistakes. And grace knows she did. This thread is pointless
We like to keep it at G rating but it gets too serious. We can still be good role models even if it gets a little pg at times. Mistakes like that are fairly common. If you are not a mod, all you have to do is play. And I have seen much worse things said as a mistake. Its put public here, i mean boobs exist, i mean its just anatomy. We should move past trying to bring attention to mods unless it is really important, and of course know the full story behind a mods behavior it can be a little upsetting if an innocent mistake is made into a big thing for nothing. There is a report section for a formal report if you need.
I agree and disagree. Yes, the mods have to be role models. You can't have a mod go around in chat just saying stuff like **** **** ********. (Don't worry I didn't actually write something bad there ) Staffs are allowed to have fun while moderating the server. It they weren't allowed to have fun, then they wouldn't moderate. As long as it's kept in staffchat it's fine.
The "G-Rated" is more like "Rated E for everyone" We want this place to be comfortable for players of All ages, and many are of the younger age.
;-; I'm sorry I honestly made a mistake, I kicked myself like I would have kicked someone If they did it, but that is a discussion for another day. I find this thread to be kinda rude,Yes moderators are suppose to be role models and most of the time we are but its not like we are full on swearing being inappropriate, Most of the time its fails ex)..We have to moderate a large amount of people and it can be stressful so we will try to joke around with each other..The thread most are not made by us Its by people who screenshot the fail/Language for the entertainment of others..I do not try be inappropriate in chat and I do believe other moderators try as well ... No one is perfectly posh all the time..
Guys, this is not a report and is no way meant to be calling out Grace, this was just the nearest example at time. I'm just calling attention to the fact that there are young, "undamaged" kids that play on these servers and they then see slip ups like these from the mods. Again, apologize if this came off as rude, I'm just simply stating the facts
Maybe take a look at some of the signatures floating around the forums. Everyone makes mistakes... so why not in general, call that mods be better role models and then they will know who they are. And i dont think side boobs is enough to corrupt "undamaged" kids tbh
I feel like a lot of the people who have been complaining about things being inappropriate lately, haven't spent much time around younger kids. XD I've spent a lot of time with pretty much every age group. My nephews and neice span the ages between 2 and 7, and when I worked as a camp counselor I was in charge of 8 - 10, 10 - 12, 12 - 14. Over 14, I have some younger 2nd cousins I hang out with sometimes. Kids are not as easily damaged as you all seem to think. Let me explain a little bit about kids, in story. I was a little surprised to hear my 7 year old nephew singing the song "I'm sexy and I know it.", so I asked my sister about it. Her response was "Yeah, he loves that song. It's on the radio all the time.". She couldn't care less that he knew the words or that he sang it, because he didn't understand what he was singing. He loved the "Wiggle wiggle wiggle" part the best. XD Kids are not these little aliens that are floating around in bubbles where no one has ever swore, or said something inappropriate near them. They remain innocent because they don't understand what they're hearing and when no one explains it to them, most of them will brush it off. I can remember back to my own childhood SEVERAL situations I ended up in with my older sisters (10 year age difference), that I didn't understand at the time, but fully know what was happening now. Looking back, they probably shouldn't have been having wild house parties while they were babysitting me. XD Yes, most of the time the mods are completely appropriate, but yes, sometimes they make mistakes. Whether they slip up in sending a message, or posting something to staff chat... and yes, sometimes these things get posted on the forums for everyone to laugh at our mistakes. Because if you can't laugh at your mistakes, you're gonna have a bad time. When you see it on the forums, what you don't see is apologies that the mods give for being inappropriate, the kick that usually comes and then the mods working to change the subject back to appropriate again if it doesn't turn back on it's own. Which to tell you the truth, with mod fails, the chat usually goes "Whoa! haha" and then goes back to whatever they were talking about before, which usually isn't the case when a player brings up the subject as they actually try to get that conversation going. Yes, we like the server to be g rated, but since it's an open chat and not a story or tv show, it's actually impossible to guarantee it will be g rated. We simply can't control people, and while we can punish those who break the rules (yes, including ourselves), we cannot stop these things from being posted in the first place, from time to time. Parents of young children should still be monitoring their internet usage, especially if they're worried about what they might see. We are here to moderator the server, to enforce the rules, yes to be role models (which typically most of the time we are, but no one is perfect), however we are not here to parent other people's children. If they have a problem with their kid seeing "sideboob" or "booty" once in awhile in chat, then I feel bad for their kid cause they won't be watching tv, listening to the radio, talking with older siblings, going to school or doing much else besides sitting in the corner with some building blocks (not even ones with letters cause they could fall into a bad word every now and then). Sorry, but that's my piece. If the child is too young to understand what's being said.... it won't corrupt them because they don't understand. They'll probably even likely pretend to understand so they aren't left out, so it's not like they're going to ask someone to explain it. If they're old enough to understand, well, it's really not going to corrupt them, because they ALREADY know about it, and I really doubt they learned about it on skyblock. The world isn't bubble wrapped. That being said, yes, mods I'm sure, will continue being appropriate in global chat (minus the odd slip up, because we're not perfect), and we will continue to punish those who are obviously inappropriate, to change conversations to more appropriate topics and to try to keep the server as g rated as we possibly can. We're volunteers, human volunteers... we do out best.
