Trumpet is the better instrument. Sax people might be able to play epic sax guy, but trumpets can too! I learned it myself. I don't know if I'm using the right notes but it sounds right. And we are superior in jazz.

Wha? I don't play sax :< Both trumpet and sax are jazz instruments. The tenor horn is a brass band instrument, so I can assure you it's better than trumpets at hymns, classics, marches, etc. Trumpets are substituted for the quieter and less brash cornets for these genres.

Kinda suggests that since he added "too" it would make sense that you play it and he does too. That's why someone would add the word "too"

And trumpets are superior in marches. Especially in the ones I played in my 4 years in marching band. I have the experience!

Yeah, but if you read what I replied with you'd know I play the alto horn, not the sax, haha.
4 years of experience, huh? Try 7, lol. US marching bands use trumpets for some reason, but it's more logical to use the cornet in non-solo contexts due to its more mellow sound.

I'm really sorry if I seem short, but there's nothing I hate more than "A is better than B". It's very comforting to believe the world works this way--in blacks and whites--but it does not. The trumpet has a loud brash sound, ideal for high solos and piercing melodies.

The tenor horn has a sweet melodic sound, ideal for mid-pitch harmonies, countermelodies, and the occasional horn solo (though the french horn is often a better choice in that area). Every instrument has its benefits and drawbacks, and to believe otherwise is shortsighted. America is not a perfect country. Starbucks doesn't make perfect drinks. No human nor object is perfect.

Well marching band for 4 years but I've been playing trumpet since 5th grade. So that'll be a total of 8 school years plus maybe 4 more since I'm continuing band in college. :3

I was just counting the time I was in the band, lol. And I don't think you can count future years yet ;> I should probably join some music stuff at uni but my proactivity is at a negative one regarding social university stuff lol
