eh because there is a follower feature and its a part of the forums. Some people care, so people dont. I dont really care but i dont like being rude about followers etc. thats all. if you dont care, fine.

Twitter is some fun place to comment and post on, if you take it too seriously around me, I leave you, no questions, overreacting to social media posts Like: "I have 2874 Friends, I NEED MORE" or "I got a dislike! WAHHHH"
