I don't want to harm anyone, just asking if this is legal / pointing it out so people can avoid future conflicts Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
I don't know if you're unaware, but I don't give a s*** how I choose my words on a public forum. That's beside the point. If the island owner wants them gone, they want them gone. Their island, their choices.
I apologize for doing this without speaking to you first. The island owner told me that you put those things on his island and refused to move them when he asked. I refused to do it at first, saying that since you are still an active player they should wait for you, but they promised that they don't want to steal anything and just wanted them moved. There were about 3 of them and they were very persistent. Those chests were floating up in the air -- it looked like they really just wanted to move the chests in order to build in that space. I unlocked all of the empty chests and personally moved most of your belongings to a chest nearby and locked it with both my name and yours, so you can retrieve them. At no time did the island owner or other coop members have access to these items. There were a few chests of random items (wood planks, cobble) that I unlocked and asked the island owner to move them. I made it very clear that the items still belonged to you and I was assured that they would be returned to you. Conflicts between coop members are a controversial topic, but when it comes down to who has the final say, that would be the island owner. I don't know what happened between you and the owner, but if he has asked you to move it and you refused, it is reasonable to expect that a mod might oblige and move the items at their request. We will never just unlock it and let them take it if you are still an active player, but we may move the items for them.
Yes unless you put do not break on the lockette in which case further steps would gave to be taken to do so.
Usually the only reasons I would unlock a chest is either : 1. Name change 2. Player no longer resides in coop (and i'll usually log the chests before breaking the lockette) 3. Player has been inactive for a long time 4. The person requesting the unlock has their name on the chest
Ok, but I never said I didn't want to move them. I told the owner that I needed to go off, and wanted to do it later. When I wanted to do it next day, the chests were gone. I have not recieved the wood/cobble etc. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
If the chest is nearby, you should be able to find it. I mean, it sounds like a weird alliance/friendship between the two of you, but I'm not here to judge that. Problems with coop members that involve a mod can be hard at times, though they do double check their facts and logs and whatnot. If they break it, they have good enough reason to. Also, like Kerahna said, she would not allow them to access stuff like Diamonds/Grass/Etc. The reasons are simple. 1) Its common courtesy 2) It is worth something on the server, so transferring them to someone else would be wrong. In conclusion, a moderators actions should always be legal. If they go against the written rule, they have to answer for themselves; but stuff like this has to be dealt case by case. Hope this answered any unanswered questions! ^-^ ~Josh
This is something you need to work out between you and your friend. He may not have been truthful when telling me that you refused to move the chests but I can only work with the information that I have - the fact that he is the owner and your chests were in the way of his building. You can look at it from the other perspective. If you were the owner of an island and invited someone to join you, but they locked a bunch of chests right where you wanted to build and refused to move them until later... You would think its not unreasonable to ask for them to be moved? Especially since he agreed to move it anyway? Since you are in contact with him why don't you ask him for your wood and cobble back? If he is actually refusing to give it back (post screenshots) I can hunt them down for you with logblock.
The short answer to your question is yes. Generally moderators follow a set of guidelines when unlocking chests, not limited to: 1) The user has been offline for a long time 2) The request is undertaken by the coop leader 3) The chest does not contain a large amount of rares. But according to the rules, any request made by the coop owner will be adhered to, since technically they could /coop kick you and you'd in the same boat.
