I was recently banned for griefing. Well the problem is, I wasn't griefing. The person said that I was griefing simply because I stepped into the chicken coop. I did not kill any chickens, so I am very confused as to what is going on. I fully understand if there is a legitimate reason, and it would be very nice if you cleared this up.

What? Yes I did jump on crops but what's wrong with that? And the first time it was accidental, sorry.

 

Jumping on crops is considered Griefing and is bannable

 

Ah. I see now. Sorry, it is not clearly defined what is griefing, and I thought it only meant when you wreak havoc on their island. First time was accidental, and second time I was testing if this was a temp glitch or something. Sorry, my bad.
Shall I give the crops back? I mean I don't need them....

I'd like you to read the first six rules of the server and explain them here in extreme detail - in your own words, might I add.

1. The first rule states “No Griefing”. Since I assume this is not a place to state your opinion, I will do my best to refrain from doing so. I think that this rule means that you are not supposed to destroy other people’s islands. By this, the rulemakers mean that you may do things only with the island owners’ permission. (Personally, I think the glitches should be patched so no more people unknowingly “grief”.) The word grief connotes a sense of sadness and it is a strong word as it is associated with emotion.

2. The second rule states “No Scamming/Stealing.” This means that it is violating the rules if you steal an item (Taking something without permission as its denotation states.) or if you Game-Style scam. (In this case scam means to say that you will trade, but when they give you their item to trade, you don’t give yours.”

3. This rule states “No advertising.” Okay, I think we know what this means. Advertising in this scenario means to send another servers IP to a person or a group if they did not ask for it, or sending/spamming it in global chat. No means not any. Put together this means “Not any unsolicited server IP.”

4. The fourth rule states, “No Killing Others in Non PVP Zones.” This one is again, quite simple. This means exactly what it says. PVP zones, you are free to kill. Non-PVP zones, you may not be responsible for anyone’s death or else it is violating the rules.

5. “Do Not Disrespect or Swear” This rule is one that is very unclear and punishments aren’t really given out for this one. This one theoretically means that you should “respect everyone” and to not use derogatory terms. (This includes server hate.) The second part means that it is violating the rules if you use swear words.

6. “Don’t spam/USE capslock” Essentially saying to not repeat the same message over and over or use all caps when chatting. Anyways there’s also Pwnfilter and you can read about that too so yeah.





Oh yeah, I also don’t get why I had to type all of this because theoretically if anything I ‘violated’ the first rule and not the other 5. Huh. Oh well! Got some essay and paraphrasing skills in! Maybe I can submit this as my homework tomorrow
