Contacting administration

    Are there efficient ways to appeal to administration? Could a special form, I don't know, subforum etc be created to attract attention from those who can't be otherwise contacted by ordinary player?

    I have just updated my other thread in Help section, where CypriotMerks ' assistance is required (no one else can handle that). The funny thing is I know he's online, but obviously ignores certain requests for help.

    Waiting indefinitely isn't fun. Since I donated to the server, I might expect a bit more attention to such a problem (it could take 5 minutes or less to handle). Too bad if there's single, extremely busy person, which alone can solve such situation - and does nothing for months, because my problem is just unimportant.

    (I still have to wait for 7 more months to beat his previous record of slow support response, so I am very, very patient).

    Agreed, it does take months to get a response, he might not have seen it, or is very busy.. as you said.

    Donation has nothing to do with this, you do know Cyp had a life too, outside of minecraft.

    We all do, but resolving an issue isn't that time consuming. If he's going to be an admin, I think he should at least help the players a little.

    Yeah, it's true that I don't know, but I honestly don't think it takes months to check on a thread.

    As much as I understand that it sucks to wait for months on something that is relatively small, you (not referring directly at you) have to understand that having a pile to work on, things like these will be forgotten over and over again.
    Other more important matters, life or breaks just come inbetween, and it's forgotten.
    On top of that, how many "small" things are uncovered every morning? :p
    It's just unavoidable that something like this happens, especially if you happen to get burned out.

    I guess you're right, but I just don't think it's fair to players that wait for months on issues that don't get resolved.

    It's not fair, I agree. But that's unfortunately how it is in the current situation.

    This is a suggestion so I'm going to say no support. Cyp does check the threads. It just takes a bit sometimes. If there was a special section it wouldn't be any faster.

    Cyp has way more to do than just help people, y'know. Just send him a pm, or start a "help" thread. Depending on the situation, it might take longer, it might not.

    Have you studied the thread(s) I referred to?

    Everyone has real life with its duties and so on. Now please answer two questions:
    - was it OK to wait for more than 1 year to have island protection corrected (on .org)?
    - was it OK to wait for 4 months to have lost spawners returned?

    No one demands that player's requests be served within few minutes. It's OK to wait for several days. Are the mentioned timeframes normal, in your opinion?

    And yes, donation has to do with that. If I feel that administration just ignores my problems (the lack of protection, in the first case, prevented me efficiently from playing on server, since i couldn't create player shops on unprotected island). The attitude from administration will affect my further donations and whether I will promote server and attract new players (= new donations).

    If the above loss or lack of donations is fine with administration, then your "Dislike" is very well placed and nothing should be changed.

    Nothing personal.

    Update: to those of you who likes to repeat "you don't understand what is to be an admin...". Well, I do. I am system administrator and I know very well the essence of such a work. That argument won't work with me.

    I like this idea. I think something that may help is maybe some trusted people he knows that can filter through the requests to him. If he really is that busy, he needs help. I've had a similar frustration with contacting him. I won July and Aug voting months, but never got July's credit and the Aug upgrade was applied to my .net account (never use). I only recently got his attention (after 4 attempts and some mods trying to help where they could), but he misunderstood the situation and although I replied back, I don't expect another answer for a while... again. *sigh*. I just want my winnings. :(
