Alright, this is the last of it. Org has gotten so bad with this lag and random disconnects, it crashes the whole server occasionally. It's gotten to the point as to where people are quitting because the server is near impossible to play on. Something needs to be done soon or there will be no players to have to put up with this. There are people with bad enough internet already, and having all this *dramatic arm gesture* doesn't help.
Yeah, I normally have okay internet. I got disconnected quite a few times. I think it might have something to do with the DDoS protection, like net did back in the day.
In order to help cyp everyone should note down what they were doing at the time of the disconnect and whether or not you use a hacked client. At least thats what I was told he would need to know to make a proper investigation of orgs issues.
I'm not using a hacked client. Its plain vanilla 1.8.8 and the lag and disconnects are CONSTANT. It does not matter where I am on the map or what I'm doing.
metro hacked client- lag outs and disconnects farming from grinders, or even just netherwart farming.
It seems more like a hosting issue to me. Like, whoever is hosting the MC server has a bad / weird internet connection that keeps timing out. As a former IT / network admin with 20+ years experience, that's where I would start. Contact them BY PHONE, not e-mail, and have them check for connection issues. If that ISN'T the problem, then why is so difficult to save the world file, do a clean install of MC server, Bukkit, and whatever other add-ons there are and see if that resolves the problem (which, it certainly should). All of this should have taken a MAXIMUM of 48-72 hours to complete. I really don't care who thinks this 'Cyp' guy is like God or whatever. My understand is that he is a 19 year old kid. And, from the sound of things, could use some HELP in getting things together. I mean, where is he? Why does he not reply to this post? Give me his contact info.. Skype.. an e-mail address.. telephone number.. something. I would have had this crap fixed WEEKS ago if I was server admin. It makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about all the money I wasted on a server that nobody cares about fixing.
I alerted him, he believes the issue at the time was players not the host or server. Though i havent been able to get together the number of people with the issue and what i said above once its ruled out that there is a lot of variations with the problem it will go that step further to look at host issues. I have both problems on skywars and org but not net.
OMG. There is ZERO doubt that this IS a server and/or host issue. Its pretty obvious when there's like 30 people on .org and then one of the d/c's comes along and when I finally get logged back in, there's only 3 people on. Obviously everybody got kicked. It happens every 20 minutes or so. Its kinda hard to freakin' miss?!
It is like against the Sacred MC Rules to request Divine Lord God Cyp's contact info? Maybe you could PM me his Skype or e-mail address or something? No offense, Krissy, but I don't think you're being quite 'pushy' enough to get the job done. So, I can do one of two things. I can either a) keep complaining to the mods indefinitely about this issue or b) talk directly with the person who can fix the problem [and quite probably even help them]. What say you? Can you put me in contact with this person?
For the past few weeks, .Net too, kept on lagging like crazy. Unreasonable disconnects, lag spikes, etc.. If you jump on there for some time, there will atleast be one to two people complaining about the lag spikes or occasionally getting kicked.
I don't understand why this is happening more to .org than it is to .net, surely they're using the same hosting service? If not, maybe org and skywars should swap to whatever .net's using. I don't know a thing about hosting servers and that crap, so if I just said total bs don't mind me.
Actually, Lycel, that's a fantastic idea! Or.. switch all 3 to a totally different host!! I'm like 99.675% sure that would solve most and/or all of the issues lately.
It seems to happen less frequently (to me) since the last 2-3 days. But I do still get a lag spike followed by a disconnect maybe once an hour or so.. doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing. Cyp, have you done something that should have improved things? Or are we still trying to figure out the problem?
I don't use any kind of app or any downloaded thing when I get kicked off. It's usually multiple people at a time. It happened when I've been: Walking on my island Grinding Shearing sheep Looking at someone's island Standing still and just chatting Getting something out of my chest Ect. Usually when it happens it doesn't let me back on until I've refreshed about 5-10 times. 1 out of 10 times it lets me back on then kicks me right back off and I have to start the process all over again.
My ping got up to 2300 this week and it is impossible to grind for me. I am finding that my island is especially laggy for me and the other users who come to it aswell for some reason too.
