You being disgraced doesn't justify the fact that you invaded another country and killed tens of thousands of its people to get even. Oh, and the amount spent on the war was more than the economic damage done by the attacks.
Its a truly tragic experience and it was very unfortunate. What I find a little annoying about the situation is that my school literally never will let us forget it at all. I have a friend who has had an uncle of his die in the twin tower crash and all day he was a mess. Every class would talk about it for the whole class and he would just start crying and crying. Its a little unfair he has to sit through this. He says he forgets about it half way through the yeah and then a couple months later 9-11 comes and it keeps reminding him of his uncle.
Already addressed this. I'm not going to claim to know anything about the battlefront, as you shouldn't either. I have faith that those soldiers, as they are random American citizens assigned to the job, are not psychopathic killing machines. Most if not all of the deaths were necessary for their survival. inb4 you say "Oh, well then you shouldn't have gone there in the first place." And do what about Al Qaeda? Sit idly by while it attacks again and again and again?
Of course, a peasant like you wouldn't understand. What I was saying is that we care about a historic moment in OUR history. Someone like the Soviets wouldn't care about one of our historic events.
Oh, I don't know. Peaceful political negotiation (not with the terrorists)? Changes to our national security policies?
Kinda hard to be peaceful about it when they're driving planes into our nations most important buildings.
I wonder who funded Al Qaeda in the first place. I suppose that the deaths tens of thousands innocent civilians were necessary for their survival too.
Make another thread to honor 9/11 without arguments if you wish to. I respect those who died, and you all should too. Thread closed.
