Sadly, it's true. Without logblock it's extremely difficult to collect sufficient evidence. Nowadays, the most suitable evidence is videos, given screenshots are overall unreliable. I would probably advise using videos, but sadly not everyone has access to software/websites to host it. This is what comes with the removal of Logblock. I suppose we have to make do until it returns, if it does.
You can also edit a chat screenshot pretty easily in paint sadly :< Video proof is really the best evidence as it is hard to alter.
I kinda feel that reports should be public, so that anyone involved in a situation can offer their side of the story as well as their own evidence. Of course, anyone not involved in the situation that posts on the thread will get tempbanned from the forums for a day per violation. This is the way it worked in a community I was in a couple years ago. That, and the admins/head mods voted on bans. But let's not go into that
If you are caught framing a player, you get banned so people can have fun framing a person for something that they can appeal, but when you get caught you won't be able to appeal it. So have fun framing people.
The trouble with them being public is there was too much abuse. Even the threat of punishment didn't deter people, with statements such as "I don't care if I get banned for saying this, but..." etc Since it was getting to the point where people were completely ignoring the rules for those sections, and it was creating more work for mods, since the high profile appeals/reports would often spawn 3 or 4 forum bans for unrelated posts, Cyp decided that enough was enough and closed the section from public viewing.
I was framed, mod still doesn't believe me. Someone nick abused me an pretended to be me and admitted scamming, which I didn't. I'm quite angry. ;(
As of now, screenshots are one of the only ways to get proof. :/ Unfortunately, being framed is common lately
Some retard did this to me when i was demolishing my island xD the whole server watched me for like an hour.
The only person of any use to watch would be a mod, and there aren't usually more than 2 on at a time, and they're busy doing other things than watching trades
