If you post your logs into a report, is that proof? You can easily fake them. If they are proof, I'd say they get removed. Because how to get someone banned: 1. Find a guy with something good in his hand 2. Give him grass 3. Report him 5. Mod asks for proof of the trade being confirmed 6. You create/edit logs to make it look like it 7. Other player gets wrongfully banned. Can you do that? I've seen Lemonade handle a report like that, he told yoshi to pm him if he finds the right logs.
I wouldn't accept copy-and-paste logs, only screenshots with the time stamp. The only way you could fake screenshots is by Photoshop, and you can easily tell if those photos are edited or not by checking the base of the photo, to see if any images were cropped onto the photo.
Yeah you can fake proof, also on forums you can use the power of inspect element to edit posts, screenshot them and get them in trouble. :/
I always had a problem with the /ping command for this reason... You could fake basically anything with the right color codes and formatting. It seems as though the command now just lists actual ping, though, so that's nice. Still, proof is easily forged with the right techniques. You all say you'd be able to tell the difference, but truth is you probably wouldn't.
i mean that is why we ask for full screenshots mainly. To reduce the risk of edited and forged proof. It can be difficult to tell if its faked when you get like forum conversations. We dont take chat logs that are stored on a players pc as proof.
It's still way too easy to fake reports if you have photoshop, and have some skill. But I doubt that people with that level of skill on photoshop are going to waste time trying to scam someone in a block game. But there are other ways like /ping and that kind of thing that people abuse. But here's a warning to you all. If you get caught trying to get someone else banned, you get banned, and believe me it's very hard to appeal that.
Your scammer situation that I said I need the logs, and you didn't have the logs and just gave up on 'em ;P
But hypothetically, someone could if they wanted to do so. You were not bring accused in any way, the point was just being made that had you been more malicious, you could have.
