Within 30 minutes of coming on Skyblock, I get at least 3 reports of people that have changed their names and lost their island. Some say they didn't lose their island, but just to warn you, incase this is actually an issue. If someone could confirm this, that would be great
I don't think it is. My current coop mate did that before I cooped him and he didn't loose his island at all. However, this is just in his case. Could be happening to others but idk
It's fine. If you change you're name now it's OK and you won't lose your island. I did it and everything was fine. I asked the developer TannerLittle and he said due to the update you wouldn't lose anything.
My friend changed his name. He kept the island, but he cant make me the new coop leader. He can lock/unlock the island, but not invite/kick people
I personally changed my name myself. I don't know if this still happens, but you will lose your island a month after you changed your name, and get it back at the end of the month.
It didn't take my island away. What it did do was cauz a bunch of people to need mods to destroy signs on their islands which they'd locked their chests with. Other than that, i've personally had no issues.
Before the update anyone that changed their name most likely have lost the ability to /home to their islands or lost ownership, and other island commands. If they changed their name after the update they should be fine in terms of island protection and /home etc Basically we cannot teleport you back to your old island unfortunately. I know this causes a few issues for some people but simply it's out of our control. We did have warnings on the forums, that's the importance of trying to get an account.
I think it's only the signs for locked chests that need to be broken but I could be wrong, people just have to remove the signs before they change their name, we need to send that message around to limit the amount of times this problem occurs.
Any chest or items that are locked with lockette (net) or any chest that have chestshops (org) on them the name doesn't transfer over. The best thing to do is remove the signs and then change your name. On net, you have to get a Full moderator or up to remove the lockettes. (You must have a way to /trust them). On org, you must have an administrator remove the chest shop(s). This might require a long wait, since we only have one administrator.
They just changed their name and it still had an issue. I haven't heard of this much anymore, though.
