I saw that alienware comment, alienware isnt bad at all if you have the cash. Anyways, for under1000, lenovo or, newegg will give prices on cheap gaming laptops Disagree all you want, i have one and i love it m17 with a 980m i think
I might just build my own. Still looking into some parts though. Let me know if any of you have any more suggestions thanks!
Building a laptop is starting to become pretty dumb. You could build a decent desktop for 1000 tho. Or just buy a premade laptop.
UPDATE: I've been thinking about my options a lot. I've decided to just buy a laptop, because if I'm going to build a PC I'd rather build a desktop instead. But for now, I need to commute A LOT due to my school/college application stuff. I might just buy a Macbook for the hell of it, since they last long and I'm probably gonna build a gaming PC anyway when I get to college. But I'm not sure. What do you think?
Look at this Aspire V Nitro | Notebook - Experience life in the fast lane | Acer I think it's a perfect notebook for gaming and working... But it's your choice
After careful consideration, I dropped the mac idea. While it is the best option for my school needs, I should probably just invest in something I'm more familiar and comfortable with, like a windows laptop. I'm still considering specs though, since I'm planning to use this laptop for a long time. Thank you for the input
I have an HP Spectre x360 for work and home use. It's good for school, but I haven't played Minecraft in a while.
Building a laptop is generally a lot more expensive, just customize one from the factory. Edit: My link is really messed up for some reason lol. It's just the Asus ROG GL551 15.6 inch http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00T7XRH2A/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1440998323&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=asus+rog&dpPl=1&dpID=51FydyU2%2BZL&ref=plSrch I would just recommend buying it directly from Asus though. This is the best laptop I have found for gaming for under 1000 bucks. I recently got one, and it's just been fantastic. 16 gb ddr3 ram more than you'll ever really need for minecraft even if you were recording playing music and had chrome open 1920/1080 ridiculously high pixel density for 15.6 inch laptop and it's a 60hz refresh rate screen. Gtx 960 it's not state of the art anymore, but it's still a fantastic graphics card i7 4720 processor at 2.6 ghz it's not the 3.4 ghz that my desktop is, but it's still as fast as you'll really need 1 Tb hard drive etc Battery life isn't anything spectacular, but it's still around 5 hours I only have 2 real complaints about this laptop. 1. The thing is fairly chunky, mostly because the graphics card is quite large 2. There's no ssd so the laptop isn't lightning fast. I got mine directly from Asus, and had a 128 gb ssd Added to it, and had them move the OS over to the ssd so it would be super fast turning on. It was an addional 200 bucks, but money well spent in my eyes. While running minecraft at decent settings, I get around 200 fps, and on max settings, I get around 100 fps. With OBS recording 720p at 60 fps video I get around 75 fps, but since it has a 60hz screen you won't even be able to tell a difference until it drops under 60 for which it shouldn't unless you had like 1000 entities lol. Anyways I really recommend you check out this laptop it has better specs than the y50 aside from the processor, and it is 400 bucks cheaper. But just saying building a laptop usually you'll pay a lot for labor, and you can get a better laptop for the price. Unless you're trying to build a fricking supercomputer with ddr4 ram and 2 gtx 980's you don't want to build your own lol.
