My name is Survivors05. Today, I made a rule book and thought we could have one for people when they join just like they did a long time ago. Here are the screenshots! (There are 14 Pages)



Do you think we should have rules books back?

If yes, should we use this one or one Cyp makes?

I think this is good, but if you was (were sounds better...idk) on net..there was a rule book for 1 cobble and people just bought it to threw it away
. I would support if people would actually read it.

 

I think we had a sign at spawn where it gave you one, there would be like unlimited in the sign or something. It's hard to explain

 

Yes there was a sign in which you could acquire these books for free.

There is a big advantage which can be seen as a disadvantage to these books. They will be used as a throwaway item which is bad in the sense that you'll have a bunch of written books in the economy but soon I think it'll be known that there is this 'useless book'. Just like the description of shampoo bottle, people will eventually read it and it will give the rules more exposure so the ignorance plea becomes almost nullified.


But I digress. This is a decent suggestion, I will give it partial support.

Actually, I'd like to propose an alternative which is a /rules command. It wouldn't be difficult to implement and constant mention of it on the Broadcast would be amazing. But that's just my two cents.

 

We could make it where you can't drop these like you couldn't drop dirt. Also they could make it where we can't auction them like we can't auction dirt But yea... Good point!

 

Um.. i think that's what i said only better :/. Also if you play skyblock a few days you ignore the broadcast automatically... it's like spam for my brain

 

Ehh, not being able to drop these might be a little odd. I don't think you can block a specific book, it'd block all written books or at least all written books with the same title, no? Maybe I'm wrong, also people would be quite lazy to get one so I think dropping it would be just fine to do. Like I said though, having a /rules command seems to have the same effect with fewer downfalls

 

Oh yes, that is true. But isn't that the great part about it? Newer people notice it and the people who play constantly are able to zone it out.

 

Just add /warp rules or /rules to broadcast. No support. No one will read it. As Hk said, it's just going to be an item most people will throw away.

Support. This is a great idea as not many people know that there are actual set rules on the server. I've seen many people selling illegal items (such as dirt, glass and sand) and they have no idea that it's illegal to do so until someone tells them. Also, not many players know to do /rules

 

I have an idea: This rules book should be put in the starter chest when people make new islands.

 

I'm sure I have screenshots of the Rules book Keeper and I put together on the last org. If an Official book is needed, that is.

The book could be added to the starter chest on the island, or as said, edit /rules.

There was a thing where a player would receive the rule book as their first item upon joining the server, and then after they read it, it would disappear from their inventory after the player created their first island. This worked well for that server. Any thoughts?
