You don't need anyone to tell you that you are beautiful to know that you are worth something.

 

The sad part is some people really do need it. If not need, then want, thanks to the horrible societal standards that we create.

That, or they are just fishing for compliments. Looks aren't everything. My classmates respect me not for my looks but for my brains. However, it would be nice to look pretty, I guess.
