Okay, I know MA is a work in process at the moment and I know things will get sorted but here are some of my suggestions. Also if any of the following suggestions are not possible or you think something else would make it better please feel free to give me feedback, helpful tips and/or Rewards Suggestions: Remove the following items: Grass: as people will sell them for much lower from the market price and ultimately break the market price reducing the challenge in playing skyblock (instead keep only dirt as you will not be able to sel it but it is still a reward worth getting) Feathers: as if we are using a undesired we still have sticks and bones Make these rewards rare (if possible): Iron (Somewhat rare): For the same reason as Grass being removed but keep this item as players will need something to motivate them to play Gold (Very Rare): Because gold ingots will become invaluable and pointless if they are common Diamond (only given at around wave 80 or something late): because hey, you doesn't like diamonds Suggestions in General: Fixing the immortal wolves! (I know this is going to be sorted) Perhaps Themed (As stated in Mob Arena | Skyblock Forums) More kits for the different ranks of Donor Making a mandatory 30-45 second waiting period between MA games as people are missing out Mods being able to mod the MA and kick people from the MA like the spleef from before the reset to ensure no cheating [HKTV suggestion] Allow /msg in MA, for obviosu reasons [HKTV suggestion] Again constructive criticism please and improvements would be appreciated xD
The way it works is the arena starts when everyones flagged in or the time is expired. Lengthen the time taken to start. For allowing people to join, someone should not flag as ready until 5 seconds left to start so people have a fair chance to join. Its what I usually do. Iron and gold prizes need to be rarer, I hate feathers but I can see the aim of the prizes are for those who are new? I think grass is an ok prize but still I think after playing a lot I have a bit too much from the arena. Wolves will hopefully be fixed by tanner (or cyp if he knows how)
As for the times, the arena gets full quickly. Could you imagine a full server with everyone in the arena? Yikes. The way to join the arena quickly and to get in is to either wait for a non-peak time with less players or to get ready. This means to empty your inventory and armour and have the /ma j default command in Chat. Another suggestion I'd like to add is more arenas as it seems possible. You've got the default arena which is great but ranked arenas would be oh so awesome with maybe obstacles and whatnot - this may serve as a solution to the former problem. Yet another problem is moderators being unable to well, moderate inside of the arena, also you can't message people. Some commands should be limited but I don't think all should, however I do see good reason to why all the commands are off except /ma l. Grass seems fine to me, I'm not a fan of dirt. Having dirt as a prize only sparks more questions such as "If I get dirt from the arena, it's not island farming" and whatnot. Even if we get logblock, recognizing island farmers will be much more difficult. I'd assume. Yes to feathers though... grr feathers o_o
the problem i have is that if one or two people do /ma j and flag straight away then you only have a MA of one or two players within seconds and it makes it a lil frustrating Well approximately 1/3 people on the server would play MA at one time which would on average be around 15 which isnt so bad. If the server gets bigger and more people join then i dont think there would be much of a problem finding a way to expand the waiting area. Also if people can only get on during peak times then they will miss out on a fun aspect of the game like the idea but i cant see there being enough ranked members to make it fun 100% agree and will be adding it to my list The only reason i dont want grass is because i have already seen grass being sold in auction for about 375 and people not buying from shops simply because they can get it free at MA. Dirt makes the reward a personal reward and under the new island protection thing, wouldn't greifing be impossible unless trust or cooping was involved which (not to sound like the old man but) would be the fault of the island owner. Against the reward suggestions, but for the general suggestions. I dont need feathers, but getting it as random at least makes sure i dont just join/leave instantly when i get what i want if im alone in the arena.
Averagely one hour in mob arena gives about: 1 stack of gravel 4 grass 16 gold ingots 6 Iron 32 dirt And a lot of nothing. Shop price on this would be 10k per hour + 32 dirt. A 4x skelly spawner is 18k per hour. A good netherwart farm is 25k per hour. Having people do arena to sell me invite etc . Makes it a bit cheaper for me, and it's a real good alternative to endless grinding. About grass price: people sold it for average 350 before, so 375 is actually higher You cannot sell iron, gold or grass to shop, so they won't earn that much anyways .. Having more trade between the players also makes a bigger community in the long run, seeing as it's less solo play when they don't only use /warp shop.
but then again you dont want the market to crash in a sense that those items are so cheap and common there is no merit in getting them My problem isnt the selling of the items its how common those items are, if the item has a big demand then the prices will be fixed whereas if they are common then prices will shrink. We also want skyblock to be a challenge, not overpowering, but enough to make the player work hard for what he/she has and therefore making the game more enjoyable. Having these items easily retrieved would mean players would build their islands very quickly, get bored with the server, because they've built what they want to build, which would make people leave. Also we dont want the only items difficult to get to be donation items like spawners and redstone (although im not sure if they are donation itmes or not, please dont hate) as if everyone is wanting the same item then the moment one is up for sale then you will ultimately get around 20 players max bidding and overpaying making them difficult to get
How will we pester the people playing, then!? Yes, I agree they needed to be fixed. There's nothing more obstructing than random players running around, blocking your arrow shots and making it hard to see at times.
