I understand we cant sell dirt because of island farming but why can we sell grass when its just dirt with grass on top. If I placed it I cant sell it anymore so why do they allow selling of grass? I personally think they shouldn't allow selling of either, but they still allow grass. Post your thoughts and opinions on why or why not they should allow grass to be sold in the comment section.

Silktouch on Grass is disabled. So purchased Grass after placement cannot be re-placed. That is why it can be sold and not dirt - this is to prevent island farming.

If we allowed it there would be far to many island farmers, the rule was placed to prevent island farming.

Dirt can be easily island farmed if it was legal to trade/throw. It also prevents island farming for when moving islands so you can't transfer dirt that was grass to your new one. So once you place grass it's staying on that island.

The server used to be much better in the past. The only thing that's better now is /trust, and maybe the island visiting system. It's all a jumbled mess right now. It was a lot more stable in the past. Dirt is just dirt. It shouldn't be illegal, regardless of island farming. If they wanted to stop island farming, they could put a cool down on it, easily.

Essentially dirt is illegal to trade because it can be found on new islands. A player can mine up the dirt, restart the island, get more dirt and continue doing so in such fashion. Therefore to stop people from making money off of this, the act is illegal. This also applies to items like buckets and sand.
Now had they made a cool down it would make it harder to island farm, but still do-able with a few alts. Selecting the right cool down time might be tricky because players may lose a bucket and not be patient enough to save up for iron, therefore just leave.
So dirt trade will always be illegal. Grass trade is the correct way to trade if you wish to have dirt. Its been this way since I can remember and it wont be changing any time soon.

    You're missing the point, though!

If making a new island had a cooldown, buckets would be legal, and so would dirt. None of those items would have restrictions, and all would be find. It's foolish to have dirt illegal on a Skyblock server.

A cooldown time of a day would be perfectly fine. And, with alts, that'd be very tedious and not worthwhile.

I understand what your all saying but if dirt is illegal then they shouldn't have ender chests. What is to stop me from taking all my dirt putting it in a friends ender chest then changing my minecraft username and going back in and keep getting a whole bunch of islands and dirt?

Getting banned when you are found out is probably the only thing stopping you from doing that .. and the mods loves spying on people :p

I agree that island farming should and is illegal, but grass is way overpriced and there is no point to using it since most islands are made of stone or wood. Which also brings up a point. If most islands are made of stone and wood y does it matter if people island farm.

You can make an infinite amount of wood and cobblestone with the right resources; also, they're sold at /warp grass

Dirt is illegal due to island farming. Grass is legal to trade as silk touch is disabled on it meaning that people cannot island farm to obtain it. It is obtained by voting, trading, vote parties and donor kits... Ect. DoctorGlaze32 and other questions pm me ^-^

No. /newisland exists so if a cobble gen doesn't work or whatever, you can restart. A new player will just move on if they have to wait at all.
