Is it possible to give players rights to use '/mail send' to Mods and/or above staff members in-game?

With support email not working and administration ignoring requests from non-privileged players, it becomes quite a challenge to draw attention to one's problems within reasonable time frame.

    Thanks.

Ok, I see where your coming from. Also I believe mods have perms to use /mail. Or at least that was on old org. But anyways, I feel like this would just revive the reason why it wasn't given in the first place. It would just spam moderators and staff members. Also, Cypriot would receive as much spam as he does on the forums.

Also in essentials I think this is possible. Not sure though.

Fine. If request to seek admin's assistance (since only administrator can handle the issue) is now called generally "spam", what are my options with support email non-functional and '/mail send' disabled? Just sit and wait for benevolent attention from celestials?

The last time I needed admin's intervention, it took approx. 11 months to have the issue handled. I expected support for donators being somewhat more robust.

    You see, that's the thing...

On the fourms, you can't be picked out for being a "250 Donor" or whatever you may be. (I am a 25 Donor by the way) Any messages to mods or admins or such loo0ks like any other one and, with the amount that they receive, they couldn't possibly go through all of them. It is a shame that it has to play out that way, but, inevitably, it does.

Honestly, the chances of talking to an admin are pretty slim. That is why when they reply to a fourm thread it seems almost like a miracle. To contact one of them, your only chance is to write on their profile or create a private message for them. Both will create "spam" and I don't even know if they currently have their notifications on at this point.

CypriotMerks Do you mind trying to help settle this down a bit with a view from your side of things? And now we wait

TalentedJosh117 You see, I do not wish to talk to admin. I am sysadmin myself, I know that time is limited. I do not spoil staff's time just for chit-chat.

I need admin attention to handle problem of getting things I paid for: certain one, not even offered to me after reset, and those, offered while I was typing '/newisland'. I provided all the data to prove the purchase/donation.

Now what are my options? There's corresponding thread in Donors' section of Help forum, but when it will be granted attention? All other means of contact are dead: admin doesn't respond to whatever communication channel I tried to use, other staff members have no privileges to handle the case. Contacting support by email resulted in nothing.

As I said, the last time I had blocker type of problem I waited for 11 months till admin found time to handle the problem. All those 11 months I couldn't actually play here, since island wasn't grief-protected and the problem of single player wasn't worth spending time on it. Proof: the problem striking (November 2013), the underlying problem finally being solved (October 2014).

I only would prefer to wait for less than 11 months this time. As I said, I do not waste staff's attention on what I should handle myself.

If you see the issue here we have one overworked admin. I would dread the amount of spam poor cyp would get in game.
Yes I wish that peoples issues could get fixed faster but I cannot see any way that this issues are going to get better without the additions of more admins.
I do not think /mail will work in getting the admins to act. I can see messages getting lost in a sea of spam.

I see. I can estimate how many sites CypriotMerks is attending to, but from customer's view the situation is just terrible. If there are no other admins to share workload with, the situation will only go worse and worse.

Personally, I do not live at servers, I occasionally come to have a play. When situation isn't a blocker (as was previous time, when no island protection was in effect, I can very much do without divine intervention. If person plays often, the situation would like much more dire. For example, if, say, before a reset I would just donate for 4 more spawners while waiting for administration to handle the case, ATM I don't feel that generous. If I donate to server, I expect, in return, handling severe problems in timely manner. Anyone can check that I am no troublemaker (no breaking rules, no overreaching my station with staff; also, I try to assist fellow players when possible).

On constructive note, perhaps using traditional means to handle tech.support (such as Helpdesk with possibility to redirect request/escalate when necessary) could be a solution.

By the way, does anyone have a spare spawner (on .org) to make my playing experience more fun? :) I hereby swear and solemnly promise to return it, even if I have to donate (purchase) more as the only way out.

    Thanks.
