Some people say history is just history, and people die and make history and we learn it. And ill give them credit about that but there is one big problem in our centry, i talked to lots of people in my school and they just learn history just to learn it. I would say that they are missing lots of things than just learning and throwing what you learned out the window, Will Durant Writes, "Most of us spend too much time on the last twenty-four hours and too little on the last six thousand years". What he is saying is self explanatory, history is improtant and there are good and bad examples that people follow. So why look back into history? To follow examples that changed our future and is still changing today.

For example, Luther back in the German Reformation was a wonderful man through his theological descoveries, Luther realized when the Roman Catholic Church were selling indulgences he protested and posted the Ninety-five thesis on the door of the Church in Wittenberg. The Ninety-Five thesis were 90 problems that Luther wrote was wrong with the Church selling indulgences. When the pesants read the paper, there was a pseants revolt against the pope.

History is different in each country, and I do love history. It is actually one of my favorite subjects. History never changes, and you can always create new history. Martin Luther, is who you are talking about. He did it for the better to show people what the church was doing. People would go to the pope and say "I have this amount of money will you give me indulgence." It would be for anything, it is one of my favorite parts of history so far.

I love history, especially european history. It started when we watched a movie about King Otto I. in the 7th Grade. I absolutely became a nerd. I have a list of every german king and their life and well yeah! History is important. We should never forget what happend. Even if it is something terrible as what happend in the world wars. Instead of forgetting it, we should remember not to do something like that. We should learn from previous mistakes. History is really important. Now imagine what the religious life would be these days if there wasn't someone like Luther. Would we all be lead by the catholic church?

 

Don't know about you but I love history for the most part

 

If Luther hadn't done what he did or if no one else did, then maybe Europe would still be ran by the church.
