Hello, my name is MCorgano, and I am seeking a position as a Chat Moderator. I am an English-Speaking Canadian Citizen in GMT -7:00 timezone. I have not been banned from any server in the past. I am seeking modship because of my initial and continued distress with the server chat. I see daily acts of advertising, flaming, and all kinds of spam. Whenever I try to contact any moderators there are none to be found. I realize that people require and enjoy an amount of freedom to talk and discuss and enjoy the server, and I am experienced in allowing such chat to flourish. However this neverending spam must stop. I am available a few hours each day, and can provide evidence of my experience being staff on other large servers upon request (In private messages, as to prevent accusations of advertizing.) I am not seeking a staff position for any perks or personal gains, but to serve the server and make it a better place. I have a desire for order and a drive to better any community or group that I am part of. I think creatively without end, and have excellent customer service skills. How long can you be active on the server every day? Only a couple hours. Do you have any past experience as a moderator? I was a Jr staff rank on another server (not naming here due to advertizing, but happy to discuss in private chat). Suffices to say, the playerbase was over 3000 active players across many servers, and is one of the top servers in many server lists. You cannot be promoted to only moderate the chat. You either perform all moderating duties including forums, looting, and scamming, or nothing at all. This is a good start to a moderator application, but please follow the format directly (it's a sticky on the applications section) ^-^ Also, add more detail, and I want to see you more in chat and forums, helping out and stuff ;D Good luck! ~Lycel
Sorry, My initial plan was to bold my responses. I have been in the position of going through applications before and I know how boring reading the same format over and over can be, so I wanted my application to be more enjoyable to read. I am also much of a revisionist - I will write down my thoughts and ideas, and then go over them time and time again with any developments and revisions I might have, until my written ideas achieve perfection. I have bolded my responses in the above post, and have added the form response in plain answers. I would also like to clarify one thing; I did not mean I do not want other responsibilities, instead I wanted to make clear that I do not want the position for any kind of perk or gain. No Support Not Active - I rarely see you online or on the forums (Maybe due to different times zones). A mod must be active not only in-game but also on the forums. Lacking Information - This application is lacking information. Try adding to the "Why i should be Mod section" Color - Try adding some color to your application to really grab the readers attention. Why I should be mod is most simply put because I want to help the server be more enjoyable and help keep the chat clean. The chat in particular is quite important, as it's usually the first thing a new player sees, and can create a lasting impression. I have been on servers where there were many active players but noone wanted to help me as a new player, and others where people said hello and were friendly. Having a clean chat and a good community is important! As for more information on my qualifications, I will say I was a JR. Staff rank on one of the largest servers (about 3000 players online at all times, split between servers - hub based). I will not say the name of the server because I don't want to advertise, but if you would like to know more about me and my experience I encourage you to PM me. As for my lack of time on the server, I simply don't have much time to spend online right now.
