I have a job and other responsibilities that come with growing up, studying three hours is not bad.

Here comes the Australian here to teach you all the meaning of study...

I'm in year 11, and I am forced to study from 3pm to 9pm (6 hours no break) on Monday-Friday, and from 11am to 7pm (8 hours) during school term, and during Holliday, the weekend schedule runs everyday until school starts again. I am completing the VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) which I need to complete 20 sections (each subject has 2 sections and I have 12 subjects over the 2 years), which only allows me to fail a maximum of 4 sections. If I fail more than I am allowed to, I have to leave school, with the only way to get a job is to go through tafe (which is a university that takes failures who didn't pass the VCE) with the only job aspect from that are owning your own business, being a gym instructor or answering questions at help centres (jobs that need to certain credentials)

So you see, Australia is a b****, and I suffer, but I still make time for you all and for my own leisure

Btw: years 11 and 12 for me are the last 2 years of college for americans

So I believe that two hours is a lot for a 5th grader, but I had about 5 hours of homework, essays, and tests in 7th grade. And I survived.

Not to be rude, but complaining will do absuty nothing. No need to be mad as for the others.

If anyone is in Georgia, you'll know that it ain't the CRCT no more, but the Georgia Milestone. I never study for tests, those are freaking easy. Always get a 90+, I hate B's, my parents hate B's, and I consider anything under a 95-90 bad. When I took the Georgia Milestone, I expected a challenge. Haha, no. It was freaking easy, way easier than the CRCT. We'll see how Social Studies and Science go on Monday and Tuesday. But not to brag or anything, I seriously will slap myself hard if I get a B, even an 89.

    This sounds similar to NAPLAN
    Aussie kids might know this.
Why is everything so complicated. I went through school doing naplan in grade 3,5,7 and 9 then did 6 atar subjects, did my wace exams, got my atar and went into university. Simple. Thank God for the old Aussie WACE system. Love you Western Aus.

Tests are meant to tell if you've comprehended the material that you've learned.

Here are my problems with tests:
--There are too many tests and not enough time spent learning
--Your entire grade sometimes depends on a test, although you've done all of your homework/special assignments
    --Tests create extreme stress
--The government reduces funding to schools that have low test scores (this influences the amount of learning materials and number of teachers)

I used to go to a private school, and I wanted to shove my principles face in a toilet... and then flush.
